WOOHOO!! No more naff kit! The Frank Thomas kit 15-20 years ago was the mutts nutts.. The stuff i've seen recently is naff and of a quite low quality considering it's a decent brand. And ye can shove Motrax rubbish where the sun don't shine..lol..

Just goes to show you can only get away with selling cheap n' nasty over priced crap for so long eh..
Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handle bars to the saddle.

Eventually you find out who your friends are :smt009

Ooops.. lol..

My old man was a fan of Frank Thomas kit. Swore by it. He moved to Hein Gerik stuff about 15 years ago as it was a freebie, along with Alt Berg boots. The boots eventually wore out a couple of years ago (after being worn daily for a number of years, rain or shine) and the jacket started to shrink (his words..lol..), so he tried out some Frank Thomas kit.. back to familiar ground he thought.. Hmm.. The jacket leaked and the boots didn't match up to his expectations of the brand, so took them back. Not entirely sure which kit he's using at the mo.. He may well have gone back to Hein Gerik jacket, not sure about the boots..

I havn't bought any Frank Tohmas kit in the last 15 years or so as the oversuit I bought then was useless. No more waterproof than a cotton vest... I still have it almost like new hardly ever worn (not a lot of point!) A collectors item so make me an offer.

All the same that is some poor sod's job gone and suppliers not getting their cash and under pressure.

FT stuff has always been extremely variable in quality, both extremes, good and bad.

I think its a damn shame their struggling. Their stuff is as good as any imho. I personally think they have an image problem. I mean who wants to be seen in Frank Thomas gear when all the racers are strutting about in much more glamorous stuff.
This doesn't apply to me but I know loads of lads who won't be seen dead in anything but Alpinestars for example.
Always be prepared for sponteneity.

Looks as though Frank Thomas has been saved from closure:

Have to see how they go, had a lot of FT stuff over the years and most of it good other than the last jacket I bought, which I had on when I had the off with the Falco, (didn't fare too well).
It's a short trip down to J&S where I've bought most of my recent kit, so will see how they go.
