Ducati & Benelli at the NEC

#1 Post by TC » Sat Aug 18, 2007 11:05 am

Two of the biggest names in Italian motorcycling, Ducati and Benelli, are to showcase their brand-new 2008 models at this year's International Motorcycle and Scooter Show. The news is the most significant announcement for the UK's biggest motorcycle show in years and follows the decision to move the event to later dates in order to avoid a clash with the EICMA Milan show and therefore attract the leading Italian marks back to the NEC. Stylish Italian manufacturer Benelli has chosen to exhibit for the very first time, whilst Ducati last appeared at the show back in 2005

Along with Ducati and Benelli, an all-star cast of the world's leading manufacturers and exhibitors are already confirmed, including BMW, Buell, CCM, Harley-Davidson, Honda, Hyosung, Kawasaki, KTM, PGO Scooters, Suzuki, Triumph, Victory Motorcycles, Watsonian Squire, Wuyang and Yamaha. In addition, the growing Vectrix electric scooter brand will also be debuting at this year's event. Show organisers are now hoping to be able to announce a series of exclusive world and UK bike launches later in the year.

This year's Show take place on the new dates of 23rd November - 2nd December (Press Day - 22nd November), in new halls 1, 2, 3, 3a & 4. Ticket prices have been frozen for a third consecutive year making the Show even better value. For more information visit www.motorcycleshow.co.uk .

I would rather go to the milan show than get ripped off at the NEC. You can walk the NEC in less than a day visit, whereas at the Milan show you need at least 2 or 3 days. Much better show altogether, better food, cheaper parking (we did not pay last time) EIGHT times the size of the NEC (if not more). In fact the outdoor show was almost bigger than the NEC.

The NEC can go and kissmyarse

I know what you mean, I am exactly the same with the Munich/Cologne show :smt001

Good food which is affordable, reps onthe stands who know their stuff, and better still, you can't buy anything, you are directed to the nearest retailer in your town, so they stay loyal to the retail industry as well :smt003

At least at IFMA the bikes are on simulators so you can ride them to a degree, all the clothing manufacturers are represented by the factories not the importers, and despite 20+ years of going to the German show I have still to see it all in the 10 days I spend there.

Puts the NEC to shame. Overpriced, overated and over here :smt009
