Marches Meet 2013

#1 Post by MartDude » Sun May 27, 2012 10:08 pm

Friday 17th. - Sunday 19th. May 2013

Same place, arrangements the same but different; plans are in hand now for improving the catering arrangements, and there could well be some entertainment (other than that provided this year by the Max Wall Appreciation Society).

Put this in your diaries now!
It flies sideways through time
It's an electric line
To your zodiac sign
I've got a Black and Silver Machine!

For the avoidance of doubt and for the benefit of my wife, not everything I may say here will be absolutely true I may on ocassion embellish a little for effect.
That said when it comes to motorbikes, I like to ride side saddle with a nice frock

Mart - Now the date is fixed, it would be a good idea to post it up in the Aprilia Ridersite Calendar

I'd be grateful for suggestions as to how to make the 2013 meet even better.

Gill & I have come up with a plan for improving the catering provision, & removing the need for a barbecue shopping run. If Dawn is agreeable, I'll sort out a larger barbecue - that tripod thing is a PITA to use.

Dawn - the camp-site owner - & Pete have both suggested we take up more of the centre of the field. That would certainly be a good idea, if not a necessity, if we have significantly more attending.

I know that Pete has pre-emptively booked the 3 B & B rooms at the pub; I'll get more detailed info than hitherto about other B & Bs in/near the village.

That would make getting there and back sooooo much better!

Personally I think it's pretty much perfect as it is!

But then I'm not used to having everything done for me!

I'm not fishing for compliments (though they're always nice); just looking for ways to ensure everyone has an enjoyable time. I don't want it to become too structured or regimented - I feel that would be unnecessary, undesirable, and counter-productive. But any suggestions for improvements or additions will be welcomed.

The fact that everyone who came this year seemed to enjoy themselves is down to those people themselves; this is what distinguishes RS from some other similar groups - no a**eholes.

The trick is not to try and replicate things

Rather, just have fun

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

You mean instead of the fold up coffin :smt003 On that note Pete if you are block booking the b and b put me and the boss lady down for a room. That way I'll be just far enough away on case I need to visit flossie without raising suspicions ;)

Just to remind folks of the dates for next year's Marches bash, while we're on the subject of meets.
