To Work Out Where and When To Meet !
Posted: Wed Apr 11, 2012 8:49 am
It's always difficult to try to work out where to meet up - either for a forum meeting or the start of a rideout or something.
This website might help. If we were to use this tool when planning it may help us to work out the best meeting point or venue.
All the organiser needs to do is to enter the post code of everyone who is coming and the website will suggest where to meet.
And to agree when to meet: http://doodle.com/

That is really clever, thanks!

Then we just need another (better) tool to get everybody to agree the same date!

No that one's simple - the ONLY way is for the organiser to say THIS IS THE DATE - NO ARGUMENTS!

Yep .... maybe initially sound out which dates people expect to be free - then take the decision yourself

It appears that a.place.between.us is now defunct. no idea if anyone used it but I found a substitute.

These are definitely really good options, I've used WhatsHalfway on and off over the last few years. But, the site is a bit sluggish and not very mobile friendly... I'd recommend http://halfway.digitalbunker.dev/
only because it's a bit simpler to use and it's fairly easy to use on mobile. Plus, it let's you share a plan so other people can add their addresses to it and then you can find a meeting point between everyone involved, so you don't need to know their locations upfront.
When you all have been using WhatsHalfway do you just find a general area to meet up or do you meet up strictly at the recommended point?
