Just wondering loike but I go to Spain most years on the bile well I may be going again next year late June early July just offering it up in case anyone was interested in going either all or part of the way. Why you might ask why not I would say the possible advantage to anyone is that I speak fluent Spanish and some Catalan not great on French though.

I've been hoping to go on the bike to Spain/south of France for several years but never made it.
Normally it would be a big "Yes" from me but with my mrs' health situation I guess it's unlikely .... though I'm not ruling it out completely

I don't speak Spanish and my French is poor - though I've survived in both places before. I do, however, talk Complete Bollox with great fluency.

You're coming at it wrong skipper shell need a holiday sio she goes out easy style gets everywhere set up with one of the siblings you arrive by bike hey presto one very relaxing family hold you could even stop at one of the balnearios (spa waters)

See in true management speak a problem is not a problem its an opportunity and a challenge

Oh and this was written under proviso of Option A :smt002

Have thought of that .... though it's not clear how things stand re travel insurance as they don't take kindly to people daring to be ill (we could be prisoners of these shores from now on).
Also need to see whether she's up to going away - can't see that far in to the future.

Yep, I'm hoping to overcome such hurdles but it remains to be seen as to whether I can.

Hi Andy - this reminds me. How is your wife? Have you heard any news (hopefully good), or are you still waiting?

.
You can get most conditions covered (at a price of course!) as long as you aren't travelling against the advice of a doctor. Mike has cancer and we just pay more!

Good to know - I normally take out the family travel insurance within the company flexible benefits scheme as that's very cost effective - maybe I'll have to look a bit further next time.
Thanks BG
Hope Mike is doing OK

We saw the specialist last monday. He's changed some medication in an attempt to make her feel less sick and given her a short course of steroids which have bucked her up a bit (though that could end any dreams of medal success at the olympics LOL).
Blood tests suggest she is responding well so far - but it's early days and whether that just keeps us on course with the "if it goes well ..... " prognosis or whether it improves things a little I don't know.
She has a brain scan soon - I guess they are more likely to find one there than if they were to try with me.
Thanks to all for your continued concern - we appreciate it.

Now, before we completely hijack another worthy thread, let's get back to talk of rides to warm & sunny lands :smt003

ok due to a small bit of good fortune looks like I may be anble to afford to go again next year so my cunning plan is to head for northern spain near Barcelona as usual.

I am not expecting anyone to be able to make it but I am offering it up in case it coincides with others plans in some part ... say the lottery winners with their French estates etc :smt002 just in case parts of the trip coincide.

Generally I head through France and cross over near Andorra the only place in France I really try to avoid is Paris and after last years experience that friggin bridge that is 8 hours from anywhere on a straight road :smt003
