Calling those S Yorks/Derbyshire/Staffordshire lot!

i road the bike down from Yorks back to Leics on Saturday, came via Huddersfield, Holmfirth, Glossop (Snakes Pass), Bakewell, Matlock, Ashbourne, Litchfield, Tamworth, Ashby Parva then Hinckley

The first bit Holme Moss and Snakes Pass was awsome...scary at times even, but a real adreneline rush. The bit from Bakewell to Matlock was gridlocked and not very enjoyable, there are a few alternatives so does anyone have any suggestions to get me to Ashbourne from Baslow/Bakewell? Then i thought i'd head to Uttoxeter, Rudgley, Kings Bromley, Tamworth, Ashby Parva then Hinckley...i'm only going on maps so local knowledge would be apreciated.

Will use the advise for the journey back North to Yorks in a few weeks

Cheers

Hi Furygan man, From Baslow take the Bakewell road up the 13 bends, at the top take the right turn to Ashford in the water, (not very long but a nice biking road)
then turn right again and pick up the A6 to Buxton.
From Buxton turn left onto the A515 all the way to Ashbourne.
Just one thing in this area, keep an eye out for the spy in the sky, they use helicopters to catch speeders.

turn left before buxton

there is a cut through on your left just after Tideswell abbey sign comes out on the Ashbourne road before going into the buxton town. also that stretch had 2 speed sorry safety camera vans last Sunday one at the bottom just after leaving Bakewell and the other just by Tideswell
