Any 'Northerners' heading over Helmsley/Pickering way in this glorious weather, unfortunatley i won't be on the bike but will be in the area Fri/Sat/Sun (with the other half!)...so will keep a listen out for the twin rumble

Possibly will be over that way. Need to see what happens on Saturday. I'm working away a lot and need to catch up on the usual stuff and visit frail parents etc etc. Will stick a post up on Saturday.

went over that way last Summer and that's the only road i missed out, ended up going to Whitby via Kirbymoorside. Getting Married at the Black Swan in September so spending lots of time over that way, we was there the weekend before and drove abit of the Stokesly road up to Rievaulx Abbey. Will have to let you know when (if) i bring the bike up this year so we can meet up...any news on the bellypan?

That's a shame Fury cos that's when the road really starts to warm up. 19 miles of biking bliss.

i remember you saying last year after i'd done the ride, seems to get busy, the other weekend it was packed with bikes and cars, seems mid week is better!

Yes early mornings on a weekend and Fridays are good. Must avoid on Bank Holiday weekend - too many nutters and swarming with police

Just got back from Cheltenham - what a thoroughly nice place - and me and Matt (youngest son) going out on the bikes tomorrow (Sat). Leaving Beverley about 9am and will be in Helmsley around 11.30/12noon'ish.

Got there about 11.30 am in lovely sunshine, went on to Stokesley then across to the coast and back over the moors. Great day out. Hope your wedding plans are shaping up ok and you've had a good weekend Furyg.

Oooh I've done a few of those places on the bike .... my Mrs was at uni in York (before she was my mrs) and used to visit from time to time. Another of my mates was up that way to and he and his other half and me and the mrs used to take the bikes to visit the places of interest.
.... a good few years ago now - must be time to think about visiting again!
