Marches Meet 2016. CANCELLED.
As you may have guessed from my lengthy silence, things are are not quite tickety-boo here, and it is unavoidable that I cannot host this event in the manner you've become used to.
My sincere apologies for delaying this announcement, and I hope those who had intended coming won't be seriously discommoded by its cancellation.
Some of you are aware that I have a number of long-standing back problems. In recent months, they've been joined by a troublesome damaged disc and stenosis in my neck, which is now affecting my arms, so they're a bit spazzy from time to time, like my legs. And it hurts. And the other back issues haven't got any better. I had hoped that the new medication, for nerve pain, would have enabled me to function at a reasonable level, but this has not been the case. Or rather, if were to take a dosage sufficient to quell the symptoms, I'd be tripping merrily in la-la land; as it is, the reduced dosage I'm getting by with has some pleasantly interesting side effects. In a nutshell, I'm not in a fit state to run the Marches Meet this year, and rather than risk hosting a half-arsed shambles, I decided to cancel.
I have an appointment at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital this week, which I hope will lead to some more effective treatment. If I can be bodged satisfactorily, I'll see about organising a replacement event in early Septmber.
Again, my apologies.

Yep - sorry to hear of the health issues Mart.
Perhaps if all else fails they can replace much of your body with machinery - sort of Gandalf becomes Davros .....
Hope it doesn't come to that and they can find a solution that is sufficiently comfortable.
