The infamous Newark meet was a sunny day out in comparison with the Durham weekend!mangocrazy wrote:Sounds like we might have a rival to the Newark meet of infamous memory...randomsquid wrote:Nope it looks crap according to the forecast, same for by me but the heavy rain starts earlier.blinkey501 wrote:http://www.addressesandpostcodes.co.uk/ ... tlock.htmlrandomsquid wrote:Anywhere in particular in Matlock Bath or just look for people on bikes?

The weather looks overcast but not raining at matlock bath, so this will go ahead.
I know it may not be nice where you are so I understand if you don't turn up.
I hope to see you there who can make it.

Always thought it's a strange phenomenon that - the way that waterproof bike boots are NOT waterproof to keep water out, but do a fantastic job of keeping it in!HisNibbs wrote: Maybe I have been wetter but I literally poured a pint from each boot.
Freezer bags are the answer!

I think it all depends on whether you have trousers inside or outside boots. If it's inside (as I do most of the time) then the rain trickles down between trousers and boot and gradually fills up. Back in the days of derriboots I remember getting off the bike after a particularly wet ride and a plume of water shooting out of my boot...BikerGran wrote:Always thought it's a strange phenomenon that - the way that waterproof bike boots are NOT waterproof to keep water out, but do a fantastic job of keeping it in!HisNibbs wrote: Maybe I have been wetter but I literally poured a pint from each boot.
