Sounds like we might have a rival to the Newark meet of infamous memory... :smt003

Looking at the forecast I think I'm going to bow out gracefully, if they're close it looks like it's going to pissing down here from first thing.

I'm going to have to give it a miss. More decorating to be done, some not gonna waste a pass out when it's going to chuck it down. Enjoy, those other brave travellers!

The infamous Newark meet was a sunny day out in comparison with the Durham weekend!

Durham, I remember it well. Maybe I have been wetter but I literally poured a pint from each boot.

Lots of "Bikers", the Police and 50 mph speed limits on sweeping 'A' roads, will keep me away more effectively than the weather.

Yes, I know exactly what you mean Keith. Don't see the attraction myself.

The weather looks overcast but not raining at matlock bath, so this will go ahead.

I know it may not be nice where you are so I understand if you don't turn up.

I hope to see you there who can make it.

Always thought it's a strange phenomenon that - the way that waterproof bike boots are NOT waterproof to keep water out, but do a fantastic job of keeping it in!

Freezer bags are the answer!

I think it all depends on whether you have trousers inside or outside boots. If it's inside (as I do most of the time) then the rain trickles down between trousers and boot and gradually fills up. Back in the days of derriboots I remember getting off the bike after a particularly wet ride and a plume of water shooting out of my boot...
