Ribblehead - rescheduled

Decided to start a new thread with the date included. So depending on how many peeps can come out to play and where you are travelling from we'll probably meet at Jct37 M62. Then we'll head through East Yorks to Malton and on to Helmsley (coffee stop). From there we may head North through Bilsdale to Stokesley. This is an amazing road. then across to Northallerton and on to Bedale then Leyburn (lunch).

Then we ride through Wensleydale to Hawes. From here we start our return journey via Ribblehead (stopping so Blinkey can take some pics) and on to Horton then Settle and Skipton before heading back towards the A1 to split for home.

It will be a full day in the saddle but the roads are fab. Please respond to this thread if you are interested in joining the ride.

Don't know where you are intending to eat at Leyburn or if you know about this place just outside Leyburn at Bellerby

I don't know what I am doing yet, but If I get chance I will meet up somewhere on route, may be Bedale and follow on to Settle.

I'm in pending bike repair (which 3 weeks in is starting to send me a bit mental).

Are we allowed to +1? A neighbor is also a biker on a cbf1000.

Absolutely Dale. All are welcome. I may have a mate tagging along too.

Would absolutely love to Dave but I'm 2/10 and no chance of getting anyone to cover for me. :smt010 :smt012

I'm still only a possible unfortunately.

Bike is almost back together, but upon reassembling the front brakes the RHS line, which is a 6yr old Goodridge line, began weeping fluid from where the banjo connects to the actual line. Highly annoying.

Ordered a new set (not from goodridge), Hopefully they will get here in time to fit for Sunday...

I rode some of the route this weekend in order to test my proposal. It's a bit too long I think, especially if you've had a ride to get to the meet point. I'll have a think but it may be best to just thrash up the A1 to Thirsk and cut into the Dales from there.

Could meet up at the services at ferrybridge?

I was thinking the Wetherby Services - saves me going in the wrong direction before heading North. Anyway lets take a rain check on Friday and see who is joining us, but it's looking ok at the moment.

I thought about Wetherby after I had posted up.

Checking the weather the night before is always good :smt003

Yes - I mentioned Friday because the forecast at the moment is for the good weather to go away on Saturday and it's not looking so good for Sunday. Anyway we'll check the forecast and exchange calls/texts. :smt001

could meet in Helmsley town centre if this helps Dave. And if anyone from the north east would like to join us?

Ok last call for Sunday before we check the forecast tomorrow. It looks like the rain may have passed by then but overnight Saturday they (I have some farmer type friends in Wensleydale) are expecting heavy rain and even some snow on the higher ground. :smt009
