Any ride outs planned?
Ride out planned for ten in the morning mate. Get there for nine for a brew and a chat?

there may be trouble ahead

My bike's been in with my atuo electrician for weeks now.

The stator and reg/rec are fried and he keeps saying he'll have it sorted by tomorrow, which is great except that 'tomorrow' has been and gone 12 times already with no good news.

I've told him I need it by Fri by even if he gets it back to me I don't know if it'll be trustworthy over long distances, nor how much of my small pile of cash he will want to appropriate.

I still want to come but I can't say for sure if I'll be able to. :-/

Blimey - you don't know the adhesiveness of the mattress to Jackie's back on a Saturday morning... We only made it by the skin of our teeth last time...

Grrrr...

#82 Post by DanRomani » Thu Jun 19, 2014 6:00 pm

I've just been told the stator is sorted but the flywheel has become warped and can't be replaced without first being reshaped and rebalanced.

They're gonna try and get that done overnight so the bike is ready for 10am. It all sounds like (expensive) bollox to me but the upshot is, I still don't have the bike and still don't know if I can make it.

I believe that is code for 'dropped it on the floor and buggered it'

Or as we say round here - it met Flatlander.

See you all tomorrow, me and Mart are arriving some time or other.

Sorry Guys

#86 Post by DanRomani » Fri Jun 20, 2014 5:48 pm

Almost 7pm on a Friday and the guy says he's bringing my bike round 'soon'. It's had new seals around the crank casing/flywheel and apparently they have to be run in gently for 400miles, so I don't feel comfortable rushing down to the midlands for a ride ot.

I'm so sorry. I really wanted to be there and meet everyone.

Thanks to my dad for helping me set up on Friday, and my wife sally for helping with fetching supplies.
And mum for helping with the catering.
The weekend was truly a memorable one.
Some new faces to the meet who came as strangers but left as friends.
The folks.

Thanks to everyone for a great time, had a blast, really good company and the 'entertainment' in its various forms was good as well.

Many thanks to Jay and the team for all the food, beer, food, more beer, whiskey & more food.

See you all again soon,

:smt006

Yeah thanks again jay and sally for all the hard work and everyone turning up and making another cracking weekend.
Now it's over though I can't help feeling a little deflated :smt005

Hope you all had a safe and trouble free journey home.
I don't care if you lick windows,
Take the special bus
Or occasionally pee on yourself.
You hang in there sunshine, you're special!
