Thanks for a great weekend, drank JD in the Dragon and at the camp site, drank Stella, Carlsburg, Fosters, Sambuca, and only set light to stuff in a controlled enviroment. I'm sure Sam would of approved.

Great to catch up, and great to meet new faces.

There was
Peter & Hanna, they was dishing out the food
Peter was also riding a Falco
Martin on his Futura (faired Falco)
Mark on his ZZR1400
Burt on his Falco
Burt on his Falco

Mark and I discussed, the how do you rember people's names, and it was always by thier bike so we desided we stood no chance!

Looking forward to the next meet.

Thanks again

Home safe had a beer, shower & sandwich (in that order).
Thanks to everyone for a fine show, think Friday night when I drank 3 cans of larger followed by 3 pints of Guiness followed by 2 cans of strongbow may just have been a little too much, felt a bit jaded yesterday, but it was all in a good cause.

Thanks to Hanna & Pete for all the organisation & catering, see you all again I hope. :smt006

Didn't go TOO mad on the way back, filled the tank at 166 on the trip only 14.7 litres, so around 50/gallon as well, happy days :smt001

And Tim was there on his Mille - so obviously should be called sheila......

We are glad that all had a good time - tents etc all put away and dish washer hard at work - when she has finished that, I will let her have a drink before doing the washing

Sam was there in spirit - well JD spirit at any rate. I think he would have just smiled at all the people just chatting, relaxing and drinking....,,

******

Personally I think the camp site was good - and we will likely go for it again next year

I will arrange some lights next year as well :)
(though I am certain an group arsonist may have his own view......)

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

Christmass trees go up really well. If we can all hang to those till next Sept we'll have no probs lighting the camp site up :o)

PS plastic ones burn all year round, no need to dry those out.

Yes I'm home too. Arrived back about 2:45 and have been unpacking and removing pannier racks since then.

Fairly straightforward run back. Sun shone until just before the M1/M6/A14 junction.
Stopped just after Cambridge to refuel and have some painkillers (painful ribs from the accident 3 yrs ago - though I got through yesterday without any problem so can't complain).

Seem to have achieved about 44 mpg which is pretty good for mine.

Was really good seeing everyone again - and a few for the first time.
The legacy of good get-togethers that Sam facilitated and for which he set the standard is going strong - Thanks Sam ..... and thanks Pete and Hanna for picking up the mantle of facilitating it all ..... and I hope you've managed to dry the kids out

And the under cover Toyota Aygo "rider" went unnoticed or were you just trying to save him the embarassment.

Thanks Pete and Hanna for your sterling efforts and when ever I see that JD brand logo I'll think of Samray and those who made the Norfolk meets.

Got home at 7.15 after a couple of long stops trying to get rid of the headache caused by not finding my sunglasses - found them where I'd put them ready to go!

Did the motorway thing going up and hated it so I did my usual route home via MK and Oxford - it worked out exactly the same mileage and didn't take much longer - actual driving time was 5hr 15min going up, and 5hr 30min coming back - who needs motorways!

Great weekend, thanks to Pete and Hanna for the organising and all the running around, and to everyone else for being great company as usual! Have to add I was specially pleased to see Jason and Mark from a previous incarnation of RS cos I haven't seen them for years - stick around folks!

And it was great that Tim was able to be there too!

I'm sure Sam is somewhere being proud of us!

Home now, but not without incident........... too many bloody incidents actuallly :smt013 (see Falco section). Thanks to Jay for riding shotgun - even with his "wide and heavy load".

Anyway , a fantastic weekend. Thank you Pete and Hanna for hosting the event. It was a great way to celebrate Samray. Great to meet some more new and friendly faces. Looking forward to the next gathering already..

Can't see anything relevant in Falco section?

Thanks, Pete, for organising another successful RS weekend.

And thanks to everyone there, for being good company in sad circumstances.

Got home around 6.00, after an incident-free journey, once I eventually got going - all set to leave, then realised I didn't have my glasses - after unpacking, I eventually found them in the tent. I also now know that the Fut will do at least 30 miles after the fuel light comes on; might of a slow run down the last bit of the A14 & A428* until a petrol station appeared, like a an oasis for a lost desert traveller.

* Thanks, Keith, for recommending this route.

I hope Jase passed on my applogogies and love to all, very sorry we were not able to make it - but Snappy and I did raise a glass of Jack (or several) to Absent Friends.

What a mega rally! thanks to all concerned. Sam wouldve absolutely loved it. As Bobbi said, it was great to see Jase and Mark, as well as everyone else who turned up. :smt003
My tyre problem has been overcome with some slime for the interim.. The rideout was great til the Mille decided it didnt want to go round corners on the way back from Southwold. Blew it up again when I left my mum and dads this afternoon and enjoyed a very spirited blast down the 1066 from Diss to Thetford. Weather was good, road was spot on and it was one of my Dad's favourite roads on a bike. Then followed a Triumph Sprint ST1050 down the A11 at a nice rate of knots for a bit of synchronised overtaking from Thetford to 5 ways Roundabout. A good day only marred by finding out off Mum the fact one of my semi distant uncles lost his battle with illness on Friday too. :smt012 I think the words 'fucking bollocks' sums it up.

Anyhow, my thanks to everyone for what was definately a celebratory weekend.
