Not sure if I'll be there for four days. Certainly do three though.

'tis really only 2 and a bit days - Friday is more rolling in after work (I guess some may get there a bit earlier)
Saturday and Sunday are full days (except for those who come down on the Saturday as the journey after work is a bit too much) and Monday is a leisurely trundle back home at whatever time people want to trundle.

So the date with the most 'yes' votes and least 'no' votes loses out to the date with the most 'no' votes and least 'possibly' votes. :smt017

Why put the poll up if it's just going to be organised on a set date anyway? Not a rant, but an observation. The poll would see the weekend of 6th - 8th September being the favourite. Another year missed out on. :smt090

As i said.. Had to take into consideration other things.. like the organiser not being there.

My comment on the poll got altered by things outside my control. I have a Squadron returning from Afghan, a handover of EOD and Search assets and a course all in that week

Just to add

Not all potential attendees voted .....

I did, Hanna did not for example

Two other norfolkians contacted me by text to give their thoughts....

Finally, for sentimental reasons many folk wanted a return to the barn for samray....
The availability was limited BUT I THINK folk will be pleased with some of the details yet to be announced

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

In all fairness Will, this was never a vote on when we would have the weekend - it was a survey to find out when would be a suitable weekend.
It was always going to be taken alongside other factors we didn't know when we started the poll - such as when those who were best placed to organise it were free and when the barn itself was available.
In the final analysis, the numbers were pretty close for each weekend - giving us the confidence that whichever of the weekends fitted with the other factors, we'd be very likely to get a good turn-out.
Whichever weekend we went for, somebody or other would have been disappointed. Hopefully we'll be forgiven and things will work out better for those people on our next meet.

As it turns out, we've got the slightly longer weekend so hopefully those that can make it will feel the journey even more worthwhile.
:smt001

I expect that now we've got a date there will be more joining than have stated their opinion on the poll.

Just sayin is all.. And disappointed. With previous years meets being held in September, I thought I'd be in with a chance of actually attending a RiderSite social event. :smt003 :smt003

Next time. :smt002

Got it. I'm a bit too far away to roll in after work, so setting out early Saturday sounds like a plan.
Will there be a pointy sign for the last road to the barn again?

No doubt if I don't meet up with anybody I will be making a few phone calls for guidance to the event.
Martdude did say it was hard to find. :smt017

Just take a look at the link I posted at the start of the thread - it is pretty clear - especially if you use Google street view in advance to get to look at the important parts.

Punctures permitting :smt002

Be good to catch up with you again Keith (well obviously not on the bike - I'm nowhere near as quick as I once was - and probably even less that I "remember" being)

Funny but I subscribe to the "the older I get the faster I was" camp.....
