Windows Update?

#1 Post by BikerGran » Fri Apr 15, 2011 4:36 pm

MS is offering me an update for something I'm not sure I even have!

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2467175

Have I got this? Do I want the update? (I have XPHome, SP3)

c++ is a programming language and it may well be that a program you are using calls the C++ libraries... so yes - it is needed

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

I usually let it run updates.. Some do, some don't. I always used to get trouble when using it with win 98, ME and 2000, but XP is much more stable and the updates work.
Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handle bars to the saddle.

It is a security update. Windows update is quite clever and automatically detects installed software and hardware and suggests an update if it finds a suitable one.

As alad stated, c++ is a programming language (which i have used extensively this year). The files being updated here are mostly core files (i.e. they wont be included as a header file in a script) and are part of the backbone for the c++ platform.

to cut a long story short, installing this latest update will ensure any detected exploits are fixed.
