Trusteer Rapport

#1 Post by Kwackerz » Wed Feb 17, 2010 4:05 pm

this is a good site to download from and read up on it at..

http://www.natwest.com/commercial/secur ... pport.ashx

I logged onto the HSBC site and was met by a download straight away, which was a bit disconcerting, however after a bit of research, it appears all the highstreet banks are getting into this.

If you dont do online banking, firstly wow! and secondly, you may want to benefit from this software, have a look and see what you think.

Im using it and feel it will be of benefit

I saw a report yesterday on BugTraq explaining how it's a matter of about 0.05 seconds to disable the Trusteer software.

It's the V-twin thing. There's just something about it that inline-4s don't have at all, and V-4s don't have enough of.

I would say that there is still the problem for the author of getting entrance to a system in the first place:
The following illustrates how malware on entering a system by whichever means, and on detecting Trusteer's services,
can easily (automated/scripted) disable Trusteer's security for whatever malevolent purposes.

A good antivirus will probably pick up on this within the next update or so...

that hack is flawed

remote access cannot do some of those things easily - i think

also - would need to be enabled via a very nasty trojan

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

Natwest Online Banking had been nagging me to install it for ages .... so I did.
Now it stops Jetscreenshot from grabbing images from sites like ebay - it just gives a white screen.

A right, royal PITA.

Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handle bars to the saddle.

Now that Internet Explorer has moved on to IE9, Rapport classes IE9 as an unsupported browser..

IE9 isnt too bad for IE, whether it'll catch and surpass Chrome, Firefox and the like only time will tell I guess!
