Unlock my new phone... how? where?

#1 Post by Nooj » Tue Jul 21, 2009 7:50 pm

Anyone know?

I recently shut my phone in the car door making it banana shaped and generally unusable. Today it's replacement arrived but it turns out it's locked to Orange (I'm on O2). I'm sure the listing said it was unlocked as that's what I searched for on e-bay, but having just re-read it, it does say it's on Orange.

Having spent enough already I'm reluctant to pay for it to be unlocked. Anyone know how to do it? Can I do it myself??

Sony Ericsson W350i.

Hacksaw will be the last resort, maybe the bench vice as well.

ok

couple of options

if you have a usb cable that fits it, then there are some quite heavy bits of free software out there that can do it - but it is not that straightforward

or, http://www.fonefunshop.co.uk/Unlocking/ ... -nc-hw.htm - costs 25quid

finally, wander into your local town on market day and find either a market trader that deals in second hand phones etc, or a none branded shop that deals in second hand mobiles - they can normally unlock a mobile in under 30 minutes - last time i did that it cost a tenner i think

Hmmm, more expenditure again. If I have to pay another tenner, then I may as well have bought a brand new one on O2 :smt009

I'll have a look at some of the unlocking freeware if I can find it. Muchos gracias anyway.

if you are with in the 28 day cooling off period - then take it back - reason is poor coverage at home/work etc

Fixed it! Beat it with a mallet until it gave in and worked.

Not really. I butchered the replacement and fitted its screen to my original phone. Still slightly bent (the phone), but it works like new again.

What is the specific model of your mobile phone? You have vulnerable risks to brick your phone. So it is safe to unlock it through any reliable source. Unlocking a mobile phone using unlock code is the safest and easiest way. You can get the unlock code for your mobile phone either from the respective network provider or from any trusted vendor online.
