Across the channel it is against the law to tie customers to one network.

Didn't people do this stateside then Apple automatically updated the firmware and the unlocked phones stopped working :smt017

Its actually illegal in the UK. I had a case a few years ago where i had a PAYG phone on vodafone. I tried an o2 sim in it and it didnt work. So i contacted Vodafone, who said it was locked to the network. So i contacted oftel who told me that it was against regulations for a company to do that, and that they should unblock the phone free of charge. I forwarded an email to Vodafone, with the email, and they unblocked it. So fight the issue.
