I reached the conclusion long since that, like most things, you get what you pay for.
I'm with Zen tho they are far from the cheapest. Support when needed has been 1st rate.

I want to move away from Tiscali too... but I am not sure how to work the issue of email address. Can i get all mail sent to my tiscali address to be forwarded to the new address?

Funnily enough I'm looking to move from pipex, and was considering the sky broadband+sat as its apparently improved (and i neeeeeeed eurosport)

I was going to go to tiscali cos if theres 1 thing i hate its paying my line rental when i dont use the phone, and tiscalis includes this?

Pipex just emailed me giving me six days to pay as my card expired in july(every other direct debt wasnt a problem, just theirs) , and this is the first i've heard so fuck'em.
Slow downloads and £32 a month - i cant even find anything that expensive on their site anymore :smt002

What's up with Tiscali? Not jumping to their defence, but I'm with them atm, and not had any issues.

I've got something roughly £20/month, including calls - but BT line rental is still on top. Don't most (all?) require BT rental, unless they're cable? :smt017

We're with Sky now, must admit I'm far more impressed than I was with NTL/Virgin.

Plus it costs us £10 a month for 16 megs.

In fact over NTL/Virgin its halved our monthly bill :smt003

Once the Tiscali system is set up, then it works OK. But why wouldnt it work OK when all it is is the BT system re-labelled. The problem with Tiscali is if you want Tuscali themselves to do anything, like you move house or you want to upgrade. Then the help desk is in India, they dont speak much English, they've never seen broadband themselves, anything they promise never happens, and there's no access to senior management to get any problem sorted.

Took me 2 months to move house with Tiscali and even then they still have my old phone number in their system and periodically tell me they can provide service to it. Its Kakfa esque dealing with them.
