Been having probs with the Flash player plug-in crashing on Firefox, I've the latest version, cleared cookies, cleared cache, done all that, made no difference at all!

Now FF itself seems to have crashed and I'm having to use IE _ thank good ness I never got rid of it!

Well I've done it, incredibly easy! Only thing is, I forgot the bit about rebooting before re-installing! But I'll see how it goes, if necessary I can always do it again.

Or maybe change to Chrome - got Chrome on the laptop and can't actuially tell the difference in operation.

FF seems to be wrking fine now - and much quicker than before!

But it won't keep me logged in on any of my forums!!! Clearly a setting I need to change somewhere - but which one where?

That's usually a little box you tick when you actually log in to the forum

No I always have them ticked! It was connected with my history settings I think - well I know cos I changed something there and it's ok now!

Anything is an improvement over IE. At least Microsoft have done the decent thing now and announced that older versions will no longer be supported past the end of next year.

I know large companies who still insist on standardising on IE 6 ffs

I'm starting to wonder if the problem lies with my computer rather than the browser. The plug-in crashing problem is back, along with another one I didn't mention before - sometimes when I have a 2nd or 3rd tab open, the cursor keeps flashing for no apparent reason.

I have this too but only since upgrading to the latest version.

Happeningto others on the 'Net too:

"Restarting in safe mode and reinstalling firefox did not help. "

I went to 'internet options' and told FF to 'remember history' - keeps me logged in now.

I am currently beta testing the new Mac OS - Yosemite

As a part of that, I have been playing with new safari

Unusually for such a niche market, I feel that the new safari will be a popular option for folk - not just apple users
