Me again - email problem

As samray says, there are a million email providers. - i mostly use gmail too.
You have your own domain don't you - you should be able to create email address in your cPanel, then get the details for the SMTP/ POP email, and put them into outlook express.
then you can have something like bikergran@bikergran.co.uk :)

Funny you should say that Dale - my daughter just told me that (she and her partner host my blog). Going to look into that - I didn't realise I could point my OE at that, so I wouldn't even have to go to my site to look at it (always told you I was a numptie!)

If you need any help then give me a shout.BikerGran wrote:Funny you should say that Dale - my daughter just told me that (she and her partner host my blog). Just a thought - who is your email provider, and who is your ISP? Are they the same?
I'm on Talk Talk (used to be Tiscali) ISP & email, but my phone is on Orange. I can't send Talk Talk email from my phone, because it's not connected to the Talk Talk ISP. So now I've got Yahoo, which I can get via webmail and straight on to my phone.
One other thing to try - is it when you reply, or do you type the address out in full? Try both, see what happens.
Also, what "happens" to the email in Outlook Express - does it stay in your Outbox, or does it get moved to the Sentbox? If the former, it's a problem with the connection settings with the outgoing mail server (I can maybe help), if the latter then it's with your ISP

who, me? iPhone. Not worried about adding another provider though, as I used to get a whole load of junk mail on the Tiscali account anyway, so was good to swap it over. I've now got a "clean" email on my phone for correspondence, but it doesn't get given out on websites and the like, and my Tiscali account for registering with websites etc

One other thing to try - is it when you reply, or do you type the address out in full? Try both, see what happens. - when there's a problem, neither works
Also, what "happens" to the email in Outlook Express - does it stay in your Outbox, or does it get moved to the Sentbox? If the former, it's a problem with the connection settings with the outgoing mail server (I can maybe help), if the latter then it's with your ISP - it varies, sometimes I get a message that it couldn't be sent - various reasons - and sometimes it's in the sent box but never recieved.
I believe it's def the ISP as my daughter has reported problems sending to another contact on the same ISP.
However I've asked her to sort out my bikergran email and tell me what to do with it - then if I have a problem I can just m,oan at her!
#Thanks for all the comments!
