My new beastie

Well as some of you may know from a previous post that my bike was a virgin restricted unmodified example when I bought it. Having never been able to keep anyhting standard for long more power and noise was called for so to stand out from the crowd a single exhaust conversion was called for. Unfortunately upon further examination with the fairings off it seems it has been dropped on its side pushing the left hand radiator backwards and pushing the coolant pipe up against the engine which has burnt a hole in it so a new pipe was ordered the offending bracket straightened and all back together with mille headers and oil tank and a scorpion end can off the good old eBay. To cut a long story short here a couple of current pictures with more mods planned to come.

Nice job - always good to have another single-piper on here .... despite the nay-sayers that will doubtless be along ....

i'll be the first then, the look of the falco from the back is one of the reasons i bought the beastie.

Yes, I'd agree with fastasfcuk; UJMs have a single can on the RH side, twins should have a can on each side. It's a symmetry thing.
But it's still a cracking looking bike, and a credit to you. Each to their own....

Two exhausts for me too, good colour though!!!
Keep posting the mods...we all ought to keep our pics up to date with the aditions we do rather than all post one pic each and never bother again, that's what i like about AF1 but don't y' get tired of the same old mountain scenes???...more driveways i say
Anyone know where to get these or similar exhaust hangers as i'm not likely to do two up?
...sorry i'm off now

The exhaust hanger is a home made job that I cut out of a piece of cardboard when I decided where I wanted the can to sit and then cut it out of ally and bent it to shape.
I am sure you can buy them if you are just replacing the standard hangers.

Not sure if these would fit.

Or send me a drawing or pattern of the plate you want making and i'll knock you one up on the water jet.
Nice looking beast there dude.. I'm with the 'twin' set though.. Single pipe on any twin just isn't right..

Great looking bike.
Why waste valuable power to weight ratio (and fuel consumption) carting a wheelbarrow's worth of extra crap around when you can go for a single set up?
Single's for winners...

If he'd retained the original boat anchor(s) I could see your point. But the difference between 1 and 2 race cans is about 1kg at most.
As Martdude pointed out in another thread, eating a couple less pies and having a hearty dump would make more of a difference...

Or you could have a nice, neat and tasteful under-seat exhaust . . .

Hmmm ...... really can't agree with you .....
Can't say I've ever heard it suggested that the boys from Stevenage got it wrong.
.... and the slimmer back end on a single-piped Falco is just soooo much of an improvement - plus it shows of the mille swinger much better (where fitted)

with mart on this one
but dual high mount cans really show off the mille rear shock, especially if it does not have a boring hugger fitted.....
