What it's all about . . .

Bike, sunshine, scenery. Makes life worth living - this view is 5 mins. ride from home (Clee Hill, with Malverns in the distance). Great morale booster. Sorry about the power-line pole - it was either that or a very nice, but unphotogenically obese, Dutch couple with their picnic.

My 'reward' to myself this afternnon after a gastroscopy this morning; not an experience I'd recommend.

Hi Mart, very nice pic, nice view and nice bike. I had a gastroscopy a few years back and I'm certainly in no hurry to repeat the performance...

Thanks for the comments - but it wasn't for anything really serious - 20 years of reflux (hiatus hernia), just checking it's not gone nasty. Had a similar procedure up t'other end a while back - never thought I'd hear myself say this, but given the choice, it's infinitely preferable up the a**e.

Renevator, it's the A4117, Kidderminster-Ludlow. On a clear day, you can see the Black Mountains from there. I really do feel lucky to live here, after the shitholes I grew up in and lived/worked in previously - Dewsbury, Manchester, West Bromwich, Wednesbury, Brierley Hill. If you're heading down this way, give me a bell/text - 07790 705027. I can offer at least a cuppa.

I love this sort of landscape; never quite understood the appeal of the Flatlands; my sister lives between Selby and Goole - featureless, flat as a pancake, always seems damp and soggy - real Fungus the Bogeyman territory (hmm - does Fungus play the banjo?)

actually, there are parts of norfolk and suffolk that are also beautiful - we just tend to not tell the grockels

I'm sure - I've just always been used to more deeply-textured landscapes; they encourage you to explore - what's over that next hill? Pics? - only know it from Constable paintings. Never been. That's one reason I want to go to the September meet.
