I happened upon this Aprilia site the other day, so I thought I'd post a few pics of my "new to me" 02 Falco. I purchased it a few weeks ago
with 2300 miles on the odometer and have ridden it about 1500 miles since. It shares saddle time with my Triumph Sprint 1050. Riding
here is mostly all Rocky Mountain twisties.... so it's come to a good home

Snow is bit late this year, so I'm riding on borrowed time.

Great motor, excellent handling, .... sounds awesome.

The bike came with some nice options.... Heli-Bars, Akrapovic CF cans, Penske shock, Race Tech Gold Valve fork kit,
chip, Evo airbox and fuel pressure reg., Heli-bars, CF bellypan / fender / hugger, plus sliders.

Thanks to you all for a kind welcome... Hopefully I'll be able to contribute something of interest from time to time.

It was while searching for information on Givi top box carriers for the Falco that I first found a thread on the subject here
at ridersite.com. I ultimately came up with a simple system... some say too simple

, that appears to be working
well after 250 miles. (pics below)

Soon, I hope to complete a set of "not so simple" aluminum / HDPE side case carriers for either Givi E 21 or E 360 hard bags.
At that time, I may integrate the top box plate into the side carrier setup.

The heli-bar equipped Falco is surprising comfortable, so all it lacks is a set of hard luggage for some extended mountain touring .

The Givi top box plate (from a KLR 650) is attached with cable ties at the grab handles, and secured to the Falco's tie-down's using shock cord.
This eliminates the need for drilling either the grab handles or the pillion, and distrbutes the load over two contact areas rather than the pillion alone.

My winter ride...

Garage pic of top box... Any Falco / kayakers on the site ? Lots more water in and around the UK than here in land locked Colorado.

Hi Tom, lovely bike (of course!) and excellent quality photographs. You clearly know your way around a camera and have excellent taste in motorcycles. Those Rocky Mountain twisties look superb; let's hope the snow stays away for a little longer.

Actually we've probably got your snow, as we had unseasonably early snow in the UK in October (last time London had snow in October was 1934, apparently).

I notice you've got a Penske shock and Race Tech Gold valves in the fork; I've acquired an Ohlins I'm putting on my Falco over the winter, but I'm very interested in your impressions of the Race Tech-modified forks. I'd be very interested to hear your views. Have you tried a standard Falco for comparison, btw?

First Ride of 2009... South Platte River

Last Ride of 2008... 31 Dec
Just across the valley my home's hidden by the forest....Nearby Mt.Rosalie is nearly 13,600ft / 4,145meters in elevation

One switchback from my house at 8800ft / 2682 meters... Temp is 3C , just right for poagies and heated grips.... plus a cappuccino when I get home
