Fine machine! She must have cost you a lot of money and effort. The effect is jaw-dropping. Saying all that, she is too clean.

Very sweek Syltiz.
What did you use to shim up the clip ons to fit the Ohlins forks, only I might need to know by the end of the week

Looks very nice mate, excellent attention to detail as well.

Oh and get rid of that tape on the headlight, it looks untidy, they never notice, mine went through four tests with the EU headlight and I didn't even know until DR posted his thread. Will be back in again in a couple of weeks with the same unit.

I got 1mm shims made from aluminium. 1mm on each side makes up the 2mm difference between Showa and Ohlins. That was only for the clip-ons - the top and bottom triple clamps are from an RSVR. Toughest part of this whole job, was removing the ignition - damn rivet-type security bolt was a nightmare.

And then how did you get it back into the RSV clamp?

I tried drilling it out but had no luck even after making a small indentation with a hammer and chisel for the drill bit to get some purchase in. Eventually I had to cut it out with a dremel... its not a pretty solution as the one side of the ignition barrel mounting point is thinner than the other non-security side. Its a real home-mechanics bodge job. Im not too concerned though as the other mounting point is fine and these mounting points dont have to bear any stress (well - depends how hard you turn the key!).
Getting back into the RSV clamp - I just used a screw of the right thread. The security feature is lost obviously.

The other time-consumer on this was the decision about how far down the forks the yolks should be. In the end I decided on four rings showing - this is standard setup on the RSV. The result is a much quicker steering bike - even my talentless riding ability can feel this. It does make for nice cornering... while not too nervous - but comfort has been sacrificed.

I am not really a fan of the Mille swingers but it does look good in dark finish.

Nice job Syltiz ..... there's so much on your Falco that's either in progress on mine or in my "dream list" (not sure I'll ever conceal enough cash from the Mrs for the Ohlins front end though).

Looks different from last year, but one thing irks me and thats the nobbly bits either side of the tank, what they for?
Oh and very nice, but far to "show room clean"

The "show room clean" was some serious elbow grease and turtle wax on Saturday morning. Prior to that she looked like a whore's handbag
The knobly bits... well.... i do find it helps with fatigue by giving better grip of the tank with my knees. It might be a placebo effect but even so... it seems to work for me.
