Nice one! I knew you wouldn't be able to resist a few mods.
I've never seen that Hornet pic before, so thanks for that.
A pic of my trusty ZX10. 189bhp on PDQ's dyno. Suspension setup by K-Tech. She is a total peach.

The zx10 looks brutal. Do you get ever past 50% of its capabilities on the road - if so you must ride like a loon.
Pic, your welcome. One with your loptoff helmet ears attatched.
Not modified bikes for many years but El Burro is a bit of a hound and the shock change is because someone at Honda specced a spring that will just about support a ( small ) 6 year old child. On the forums people complain that 2 up and they can't get the sidestand down! I have had max preload set just one up.
Changing the rear sprocket tonight and the whole thing has been sprayed with black paint .... sprocket, nuts, carrier, wheel spindle head and nut ... the sprocket was glued on by the stuff. Commuted through a winter and the `scottoiler effect` is all I can think.
Happy days. There is a good bike lurking underneath, I am convinced ... err maybe.

Not on the road but it's fun even up to 50%. It's a good bike to ride to a trackday and ride home again..
Except in this case where the Akra failed the noise test but fortunately someone in our group had a quieter can!

RB, genuine question - why have two bikes that are so similar in capability / application?

Re: The 'Post a picture of your bike' thread
Genuine answer - because they're not that similar. ;)
Expansive answer: I bought the K on a whim because I'd blown up Rock3, and I didn't like the Triumph Daytona that I recommissioned for MadLiz, and I 'knew' the K's foibles and had a Flash Tour coming up (this was 2017 iirc).
When I came back from travelling earlier this year I still had the K because I couldn't sell it: tried end of 2017, early 2018, and again early 2019 - even at reasonable prices I didn't get a single sniff, so I'm kinda stuck with it at the moment. But anyway - I had decided whilst travelling that I wanted another Rockster, so I bought one and in the end it turned out to be useful that I still had the K, because the Rockster had some niggly faults that put it off the road a few times (and indeed currently - the rear shock's seal has blown - I need to get it rebuilt).
I prefer the Rockster for most riding - the K has an atrocious saddle that is torture after an hour, and the riding position is too forward for me these days - both fixable, but I haven't done the fixes because the K was only ever meant to be a stopgap. I may actually get the fixes sorted out because the K is so powerful it's probably better for 2-up riding (which I'll be doing a lot more of this year). Need to try it once the weather improves.
Although the K is something like 3 times the max bhp of the Rockster (160 vs 85, both when new), in real-world usage you're right, there's not a lot of difference in actual speed across country, but it's a very different experience on each of the bikes.
I reckon I'm actually faster across country (ie 300 miles of non-motorway twisties) on the Rockster than the K - simply because the Rockster is more pleasant to ride at real-world speeds and conditions, and the Telelever is so confidence inspiring - the DuoLever I find isn't as stable.

Nice wheels Moff! When I saw 1198 is your username I wrongly assumed you had ...an 1198! Those Diavels are superb bikes, right? I had a proper giggle on one on the Ronda road in Spain a few years back.

I like them, whats the if any consequence of the top box when riding in crosswinds?
I hate it when people ask if you have a bathroom, I want to say "No we pee in the garden"

Re: The 'Post a picture of your bike' thread
I have ridden in high cross winds with it in the UK and not really noticed any problems, even with full panniers lobbed on it as well while touring Europe and Scandinavia.
The only issue i have noticed is it does induce a bit of a weave about 135 mph but thats not exactly a daily occurrence and doesnt do it at 135 mph without the box on

Love the red - I suppose the box is a necessary evil but it does detract from the lines of the bike.

I'm afraid to post a picture of my bike. It's not up to the standards of cleanliness I see posted here!
Mine's a battered old trundler - suits me perfectly. In truth, I was close to packing in biking before getting it - I'd lost the pleasure of riding.

Welcome to RiderSite, Chris! You're obviously familiar with a soapy sponge and elbow grease judging by that pic.
