Well, just thought I'd post up a couple of pics of my Baby! :smt007
A 2001 Aprilia SL1000 Falco. :smt003
Ive just completed the Mille swingarm conversion, LED indicators, some custom tank-pads and a homemade tail-tidy.
This is how she looked when I bought her, (bout 2 months ago!)...
Image
And this is her now...
Image
Quite a difference and loads more sexy imo! :smt003
Why they didnt come with this swinger as standard I'll never know!...
Anyhoo.
Thanks fer looking and all comments welcome!
FM

Before that was...
My 2004 Kawasaki zx6r,(B1H 636).
Image
My last bike up until a 'person' in a cage drove through me on a roundabout in September last year. :smt013
I loved the Hi-level Micron. Sounded nice, (fer an inline four!), and looked smart imo.
Want a pair fer me Falco...
The crash wrote her, and very nearly me, off, (light cosmetics but swingarm bent and frame badly scratched :smt009 ); Got the payout, got the Falco! :smt003
Every cloud, and all that... :smt002
A (too) razorsharp little missile that, although a lotta fun, lacked the guts I was after in a bike.

Before that came...
My 1998 Triumph Daytona T595...
Image
Got her as I fancied havin a reliable, (affordable), twin or triple and I loved the style from when they were new, but could never afford one.
Very Darth Maul but after a while, (tho I loved the engine), I fancied summink newer and lighter to keep up with me mates 2002 GSXR600, (see above bike)!...

And before that was...
My much missed 1996 Kawasaki zx7r...
Image
Great times and great memories with this bike.
Probably helped that my brother also had one, in silver, and most of our mates had a bike too.
We were out every weekend that we could. Blasts to Alston or Scarborough with occasional jaunts to Scotland and Wales.
Ahhh.
Happy days...
Now we are all Married/With Kids/skint so either have em SORNed, (as in my mates Bandit6, tho thats prolly for the best... :smt002 ), or sold.
Except for me. :smt006
I refuse to give in! :smt019

SL = 'Sport Light', apparently! :smt017
(190kg aint light in my book, but she has more low-down grunt than me mates 03 RSV!) :smt003

Took the OE indys off! :smt002
Then put the (probably) heavier Mille swinger on! :smt017
Oh, and the bellypan aint standard either, so its prolly more like 200 kg! :smt002

Aint checked to see if its been chipped yet. It has titanium cans, (no badge/stamp/sticker so Im not sure what make but they are soooo light!), a 15 tooth front sprocket and K+N filters. She fair shifts along! :smt003

She fair shifts along!

That's what you get from having an RSV lump to play with... :smt016

I wonder if you could shoehorn a 'Factory' engine into a Falco? :smt012

Indys offa Ebay and well cheap too! They are intended to use on car mirrors but work a treat on the various curved surfaces on bikes! :smt004
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... RK:MEWN:IT
I also had the same ones, (same seller I think), on me zx6r and they were on fer two years, (before the bike was written off!), in all weather and never gave any trouble! :smt003
They are E-marked, though Ive yet to go through an MOT with em on, (the 6r was too new fer an MOT)...
Oh, you will need a flasher unit for em and ya have to leave a pair of the OE indys on as well, (They flash like hazards if ya dont; not sure why that is as they were fine on the 6r!). I just bunged the rear OE pair under the pillion seat fer now til I find a solution... :smt017
Glad you like! :smt006
