A playmate for the Falco
I know this won't be to everyone's taste on this forum, if anyone infact, but I wanted to share as I'm excited about it.
I've always lusted after an R1 and the 14b does it for me. So after a few months of scrimping and saving I've finally gone and bought one.
Play nice 🙈

Dint normally like black bikes but do like the Matt on that and just enough colour to set it off. Don't think you should have any exhaust system you can't pronounce drunk though ;)
For the avoidance of doubt and for the benefit of my wife, not everything I may say here will be absolutely true I may on ocassion embellish a little for effect.
That said when it comes to motorbikes, I like to ride side saddle with a nice frock

You going for the matching "Bradley Smith" hair-do?
Yep looks fun. A good few years ago I had an R6 courtesy bike - a lot gutless low down but the Falco felt like a barge afterwards.
The R1 should be better power wise and still be very agile.
Should be a lot of fun.

Awesome mate, I love yamaha's and especially R1's, but I'm afraid the riding position wouldn't do for me. Personally I'd like something with a bit more colour ,but it's very sexy

Thanks for the kind comments.
Yes the mirrors need to go back on, I've been out on her today and I don't like riding without being able to see behind me at a glance.
She got a proper test today and fook me what's machine! It gathers pace so easily and rapidly. It's so easy to be above the speed limit without really knowing it.
In race mode it's savage. So aggressive, from the smallest twist of the wrist it takes off and it's relentless all the way up to the 15k Rev limit. It feels solid and planted all the time. Gives a lot of confidence. The brakes are on another level. It's an absolute weapon on the road. Truth be told nobody needs a machine this capable or powerful for the road but it sure is fun.
I love the looks and the stealth colour scheme. The carbon Akras sound amazing. The best sounding IL4 I've heard for a long time.
It doesn't have the soul of the Aprilia but it makes up for it in other ways.

I know this bloke, somebody else, definitely not me, who has looked at handguards/brushguards for the commuter after allegedly clipping the mirrors on a couple of transits while filtering. Why do they put transit mirrors at lever height anyway, not like anybody uses them.squadron Nero wrote:It's just a brake guard. Mandatory on race bikes these days. Extraneous for the road. I can only assume the previous owner thought it improved the cosmetics.
