rgv upgrade

Have decided to change the colour of my rgv 250 from black to the original blue and white scheme. Whilst doing this I'm also giving it a bit of a rejuvination. I don't particularly want to do a complete nut and bolt restoration as I like riding it too much and I've already had it laid up too long.

Ive been and collected my refurbished rear shock today which meant I could re-fit my back wheel and move the bike around a bit. The garage is fairly cramped so it helps to move it outside to do little jobs.
I've renewed all the rear shock linkage bearings and spacers as these were seized, Powder coated the wheels in white, fitted new discs, pads and brake lines all round, had the rear caliper powder coated and various other bits and bobs. I've de-coked the exhausts and sprayed them in barbeque paint ( not too happy with this as it looks a bit dull and more like grey than black)
Have obtained a full set of decals and I'm almost at the point where I can have it sprayed.
I've also come across a couple of mint side fairings but depending on how the spray job comes out I may sell these on , they cost me a fair whack with one of them coming from Australia .Got stung for over £80 import tax on that but they are like rocking horse shit!

Thanks Dave its one of those bikes that always looks pretty good in a photo but there are lots of small bits that let it down. I'll go through it bit by bit and eventually it'll be mint. Its definitely a keeper now 2 strokes are no longer being made. They've increased in value over the last few yearsand who knows maybe 1 day it'll be worth about half of what I've spent on it!

Lovely stuff. I'd forgotten just how trim and dainty a proper two-stroke is. And it's been a while since I experienced that two-stroke zzzzing as it hits the powerband...

Just an update, got all panels back from the sprayer and I'm really pleased with his work. All fitted now but unfortunately tax and MOT have run out so will sorn it till next spring. can't wait to give it a good thrashing though.

Anytime Keith will possibly take it to blinky's weekend this year so make sure you attend.

Sorry for the Falco riders out there but just for you here's another photo to keep you all happy. I think the 2 V twins complement each other.
