The low here was -25C about a week ago. The weather (snow) has been mild this winter onomg and we think it,s cold here.
my side of the continental divide, otherwise I'd be trailering the bikes to lower elevation.
On the west side, the snows have been quite heavy with excellent skiing conditions.
Harley's are difficult to spot on the mountain roads... they appear only as a blurr when you blow by themI have friends in Texas who rode up to Colorado on their Harley Fergusons in August last year...

My FJR and a friends Concours... lost in a sea of Harley's

...And just when you thought it couldn't get any worse .... Man the harpoon

We've been having unseasonably warm weather all week, with highs around 16, and humidity below 10%.
In other words, ideal riding conditions.... except for all the sand in the twisties. Cold and snow return this weekend.
Tom
Trying out the new PR2's .

I, for one, enjoy seeing Falco pics from other locations around the globe, and I assumed you did also.
If you want to block my posts, be my guest. I wouldn't want to threaten the continuity of this site.
In fact, another 18 inches of snow are falling in north central Colorado as we speak. Several ski areas received
over 40 ft of snow last winter.
I'm located on the east side of the divide (foothills) with much less snowfall and warmer temps being the norm.
This allows me to ride one day, weather permitting, while skiing the next.
Several ski area's are in Summit county which is a 75 minutes drive, with backcountry X/C skiing and snowshoeing
only 30 minutes or less from my home. Denver ( 5,200ft) is about an hours drive and a 4,000 ft descent, with temps 15 - 20F
degrees warmer than here. I trailer my bikes there when the snow piles up here.
Perhaps your next tour, after France, could be to the Rocky Mountain West. You could hire bikes in Denver and be on your way.
Rentals are $125US and up per day, with BMW's, Ducati's, VFR's and various other Japanese ST's available. September is likely
the best time to tour the Rockies.
Where else can you ride pavement to 14,240ft ( 4,340 meters) ?

Mt. Evans at 14,000ft - Approaching the last switchback

The Colorado Rockies - 54 peaks over 14,000ft elevation

Sitting on top of the world - Mt. Evans summit - 14,268ft . My house is only 10 miles from the summit in a straight line,
but it's a very twisty and exciting 2 hour ride.

75 minutes west to Keystone Ski Area (Summit County) in December. Lake Dillon is seen below.

No worries..... He's on the west side of the continental divide, where snow / ski conditions are excellent this year.Hope my youngest son is having worse weather than that.
He's in Colorado snow boarding.
