So, fitted the Mille forks and 320mm rotors to the Fut a couple of weeks ago. All I can say is, why oh why did Aprilia choose to fit smaller brakes to a heavier bike intended for 2 up touring?

The braking from anything over 50mph inspires so much more confidence and is a mod I would heartily recommend.

On the subject of mods, is there any noticeable difference with changing the air box for the early Mille version or is it better to go the Evo route (assuming it fits)?

Fit a renegade air box instead of a mille one... Job sorted

As regards the airbox- from what I've read, just fiddling with the airbox/boot makes at best a slight difference. You need a full-on Evo/Rene/Hooked airbox mod , plus PCIII/Tuneboy/TuneEdit + dyno faffing to make a real difference. And adjusting the cam timing - slotting the cam gears - is said to provide the a more significant performance improvement.

I toyed for a while with the idea of an airbox mod, but for most of the riding I do, a smaller front sprocket and a BMC air filter, with the fuelling etc set up by Griff, has provided a value-for-money improvement. The BMC filter hasn't improved top-end performance, but, IMHO, it's made the bike rather smoother in the mid-range

Blinkey. I prefer the sealed airbox, Evo style, which I had on the Falco and worked really well.
I've got the TuneECU software and used that to upload the 05 map, which made a noticable difference. I might have a play around with it sometime to see if I can get the best from Zorstec cans.

MD. Haven't really noticed any difference in the handling. I expected the turn in to be a bit quicker but I can't honestly say I can feel any change. As far as I could tell, there's only a few mm difference in length anyway and that can be lost in fitting the forks slightly lower in the yokes. BTW, the 15T is on the shelf in the garage waiting to be fitted
