'Scuse my ignorance but why would we not be using short oil filters?

Surely a long one won't fit, or have I missed another trick?

I've moved over to the new one but as I still have the old cover I could actually use either.

They couldn't pay the original manufacturer, champion?, so had to go somewhere that would give them credit and they new supplier came back with the newer longer fitting. See I do try to pay attention even though I sit at the back

K&N still do the short one too, probably a bit more expensive than some of the other brands

I think AP have those too on their website only a couple of quid more IIRC

I reckon that once the mafia owned all the sidestand, lever and indicator factories they started working on making everything else stick out.
