On behalf of a good friend, who's picked up a 2005 RSVR Factory today (very, very tasty - the 'black' version, black frame, gold Oz wheels, tasteful carbon bits, Ohlins everywhere, Akrapovic SP cans)

The sidestand looks rather on the short side, & doesn't project very far outside the bike's 'footprint'. Almost as if it's too short; the bike leans over too much for his liking.

Is there a better after-market stand which will fit without significant modification?

(TBH, I don't know if this is the original)

Saw one very, very like that outside our village store last week. Smashing looking bike. Sounded good too.

Am in the throws of finding out if a modified GSX-R stand will do the job. The kid of oddness is also after a better side stand.
