Looking for brake/clutch levers - try these guys.

#1 Post by arizonabay » Fri Jun 03, 2011 7:12 am

Not sure if this is the right place for this post but it seems the most sensible to me.

I took a punt and bought a pair of Shorty levers for my mille from an eBay seller in Hong Kong. I honestly thought I'd get them in 6 months (if at all) and they would be crap. These guys: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... K:MEWNX:IT.

Well they arrived yesterday, 5 days after purchase. That’s faster than I get most of the stuff I buy from UK sellers! They look brilliant, feel very well made and fit perfectly. With the exception of branding they look and feel exactly like levers selling for well £100. These cost me a smidge under £30 delivered :smt023

Brilliant, well chuffed!

Thers nothing like a personal thumbs up on a product to get me interested. However looking on their ebay site I note they only list fitment for the Mille from 2004 onwards.

Can anyone confirm the Mille still had the same levers as the Falco at that time? I have a feeling the RSV / Mille went over to a radial master cylinder on the brakes, hence the levers may not be suitable for a Falco

If they are OK I'm definately going to order a pair though

Radial master cylinders came in on the RSVR / RSVR Factory series (and not sure they all had them to begin with ... can't remember). The earlier Milles/MilleR had the same as the Falco

BTW I recently tried a shorty style clutch lever - hated it. Full length now and all is well in the world.
I know some like the shorties but if you are considering buying, try riding a bike with them first to see whether you get on with them.

Good point D-Rider, I had similar concerns.

However, for £30 I thought it worth the punt. If they didn't suite I'd stick 'em on eBay and get maybe £15 - £20 back.

Falco9, at the top of the ad it states:"FALCO/SL1000 2000-2004
TUONO/R 2003-2009
RSV MILLE/R 1999-2003
". The table lower down in wrong. Just put the model of your bike in the paypal message - job done.

Cheers Arizona,

I am obviously blind :smt003 I'm going for a set of full length levers myself. Its a shame you can't mix and match though, I'd prefer a shorty for the brake but full length for the clutch

id prefer shorty both sides but even after the oberon cylinder the falco clutch is too heavy for two fingers to be the only option

Shorty Levers...

#7 Post by GregD-UK » Fri Jun 03, 2011 9:36 pm

Hi all,

I have these kinda, paid a smidge more :smt017 Just had done all of my brake and clutch lines re-done with 5.0 :smt002 I can easily use two fingers on clutch, have the mpl fitted. Got the mille 4 pad calipers, again, two or one finger operation. I have BIG Plumbers hands though :smt016

Recommend changing oil regularly though, that's a MUST!
My warranty is the clear/smoked tail lights around the corner!!

i have gone for black shorties with a red adjuster
will post a pic up when i get them!
and cheers to the OP! :smt003

I use these as well

And I can manage my clutch with 2 fingers with shorty levers ;)

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

No problem here with a shorty clutch lever, two fingers does it all with ease on the original slave cylinder. Y'all need to man-up a bit :smt003

Got fed-up with my joints going "click" - and it just felt wrong. Two fingers on a full length lever is perfect for me

Well recieved my levers today just 6 days after ordering them (I ordered black levers with red adjusters)

Fitted them a few minutes ago and I have to say they are superb and IMHO offer fantastic value for money. Well engineered with excellent tight tolerances, they went straight on with no problems and look and feel great

For £30 delivered these have to be one of the the best eBay bargains of the moment

Great heads up on these from Arizona, much appreciated :smt023

Thanks for posting this chaps, your recommendations are enough for me so I've ordered a set of long 'uns in black/black :smt004

Will be nice to replace my "starting to look a bit scabby" Brembos with some trick levers which are cheap enough to stay off the shiny toy wiferadar :smt002
