Hi guys, thought i had better say hello, lurking for a couple of days.
the Name is Wolfie and live in nottinghamshire, near Tuxford (not Tooting D-Rider! why Tooting?)
not got a Aprilia yet, going to have a look at a 01 RSV-R later on today (hopefully its still for sale)
i was going to have a Falco and it was 50/50 choice between that and a RSV but i found that the RSV was more comfy....yes i know its odd... :smt012

Cheers all!

thanks for the welcome!
had a look at the RSV-R, but decided against it as got a funny vibe, plus it was making a odd ticking noise on the front pots top end, plus the rev limiter was set at 6k, which was a bit odd i thought, when the key was turned to on, the rev neddle would swing to 6 then back again, why would someone set it at 6?
its ashame cos it was a nice bike.
going to look at this tomorrow http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 97.c0.m619
spoke to the guy and sounds like a decent chap.
fingers crossed!! :smt003

Same goes for me, welcome from me too, again not far away.
I'm about the same 20 miles away, (between Worksop and Sheffield).

Both are great bikes, as are the Tuono and Futura, the V60 is a brilliant engine, so it is down to which suits you best. The Falco is more comfy for an old fart like me. It's also less common, so you don't see as many.
You'll be welcome on here whichever way you go.
Hope it goes well, but have a good look around there will be a few around to look at, and there are a couple of people on here selling Falcos if you change your mind.

P.S. Ooops just beat me on that!
This new one looks nice, 17k miles is fine on a V60.

Hi Wolfie (power to the people) now I'm showing my age.

For future reference:-

The rev counter only hitting 6k is normal if the dash has reset itself, no big deal just a matter of pressing the C buttin to set it, but it is a good indication that the battery is struggling to start the beast, so either it needs a new battery or starter solenoid or the charging system is iffy.

None of these issues are show stoppers, although some are more expensive to fix than others

Good luck

Citizen Smith starred Robert Lindsay as "Wolfie" Smith, a young Marxist urban revolutionary living in Tooting, South London, who is attempting to emulate his hero Che Guevara. Wolfie is the self-proclaimed leader of the Tooting Popular Front (in reality a small bunch of his friends) the goals of which are "Power to the People" and "Freedom for Tooting". In reality, he is an unemployed dreamer and petty criminal whose plans fall through due to laziness and disorganisation.

i used to be on Visordown (when it was good) and used the name Wolfbane, people started to call me Wolfie and it sorta stuck really, so now pretty much every one calls me Wolfie.

That's a blast from the past. RS used to accommodate many of the VD mob every time Ben's site crashed. :smt001
