Happy days!!!!! I'm fighting the urge to but them back on ebay and make a few quid, but once I get um on my black Falco, I'm sure I'll be keeping um.

Yep - that's what I did ... but I had mine powder coated gold.

Could probably make a tidy profit on them .... but once you get them on the bike you'll not be wanting to sell

The rims were off a 2002 Mille RSV-R.

Next for the treatment is a 2002 RSV swinger I got for £25, againe not in good shape, but the guy at the wheel refurb place recons he could turn it round no probs. Anyone had experiance of having a swing arm powder coated?

Yes.
Mine had the ubiquitous dent on the right hand side. they drilled a hole behind and perfectly knocked it out before welding up the hole.

I took it to my powdercoater hand he blasted the lacquer off of it and coated it.
It looked great.

However, over time the surface has dulled - gone rather matt. We (powdercoater and I) are wondering whether the Muck Off cleaner I have used is too harsh for it - but have not concluded yet. It does come up nice again with a good application of polish but would be quite high maintenance.
I considered having it re-done but couldn't face the hassle of removing it again and replacing all the bearings again so I have obtained a set of full-length carbon swingarm protectors and stuck them on it - I really do think they look the business.

Nah mate they're crap. I'll take them off your hands for ya, hell I'll even pay the postage, can't say fairer than that

Will swap my 11 month old red setter for them

Yes, I have oz rims powder coated and my mille swingarm powdercoated the same colour GOLD!!!! On my black falco, few more extra tasty bits to put on then she is done.....

Recommend you get the swingarm cleaned and coated. As for dulling, just use washing up liquid and hot water, no intense cleaning agents D-Rider that eats away at the shine over time fella

Yeah - so I've found out. Thing is, Muck Off claims to be formulated to be kind to loads of surfaces and probably little fluffy kittens too .... though careful reading doesn't actually make any mention of powder coating.

Anyway, I'm even more pleased with the look of the carbon covers so I'm not too upset about it - just won't be using a lot of Muck-Off again.

I notice you have a high-level can, I've been plotting a conversion to high-level mounts with my Beowulf's but I've not been able to establish how the cans are mounted on the sub frame, there seems to be various different ways of doing it. I don't suppose you have a couple of close up shots of how you've mounted yours do you? It doesn't look like they are mounted off a bracket off the rear foot peg like other I've seen!

Any guidance much appreciated.
