Just got back from the Bulldog bash where I had the bike dyno'd on one of those mobile dyno van thingies.

Didn't get a torque printout which was a shame (but didn't expect much for £20) but it registered 120.11 bph (rear wheel) in 5th with a top speed (presumably this is based on how fast it spun the rolling road?) of 168 mph. Seeing as I struggle to hold on at 130 I can't see me ever getting anywhere near that :lol but I was rather pleased

Best of all was the dyno bloke's comment "bit of a beast isn't it", and the raised eyebrow/thumb-up he gave me after the first run (4th gear).
Well, that and all the guys standing around my bike drooling while it was in the queue

I was considering getting a power commander and a custom map, but he said the fueling felt pretty much spot on. I've not done any engine mods (bar the Akra end-cans) so I was looking at this as a baseline before I started spending serious money on it, but since these results seem to back-up the 'arse-dyno' indications that it's pretty damn good as it is, I think I'll wait for now.

Take the cans off if you want to check your fuelling as a ready reckoner.
Look in the entry end, should be a nice layer of soot, but not too much. None at all is worrisome too.
Same with the other end look for the soot result there.
Too little (lean fuel) or too much (rich fuel) down the bottom end and the fuelling is out on low revs, the exit end references the high revs. Only a basic ready reckoner, but generally a good indication.

Chain was probably too tight and it was skipping on the rollers.. or the tyre was spinning cos it was too high a pressure.. etc, etc

I seem to remember that Nooj's Falco is the same colour as yours except that it has had the top coat added - and is, in fact, the superior colour - along with mine, Flying Kiwi's, Paddy's, Morph's, Sabs and many others.

..... in fact irrespective of top speed, those that can keep fuel in their tanks tend to go FURTHEST .......

I saw a Tuono R with Akra's parked up by the dyno and was majorly drooling over it, what a bike! So much shiny goodness!

Talking of getting things from the states - I put my Falco over on the driveway (ARGH! GODDAMN SIDESTAND!) on Friday so had to do the Bulldog on my Hornet - gutted. Only minor damage (small scrapes to plastics, snapped brake lever, bent clip-on - no marks on casings, tank or frame thank god!

Anyway, was thinking of ordering some Helibars from AF1 - anyone know if they'll pack it as if its 2nd hand to avoid hefty import tax? Could PM me if needed

Damn good thing you didn't do much damage. That unique colour scheme is absolutely gorgeous but I bet it's nigh on impossible to sort out paint damage.

BTW imports of 2nd hand stuff still attract the import tax in the same way as new parts - I was looking at this recently when considering buying a PCIII from USA .... but have now picked one up 2nd hand over here.

I'm getting a PC111 and the renegade airkit fitted over winter to go with the Leo's so I'll post up the dyno read out's I get them, I'm hoping for about 126-127bhp at the wheel but we'll see

The more I ride the "T" the more I realise the differences between the two engines, up to 6k my "T" is as docile as a neutered puppy but from 6-10k (especially near the 10k mark) it's ballistic, just keeping the front end down is becoming a major issue, the forks are being dropped and I'm considering going back to the 16-40 gearing it's that good (no sorry bad!!) You really need to rev it to get the best from it I feel

Friends who ride it refer to it as the "Jekyl & Hyde" bike, which I think hit's the nail on the head

The extra weight and wind resistance of all the R&G bungs and bobbins easily negate that 12bhp :D
