Aprilia Roll-Call - Summer 2017

#1 Post by D-Rider » Wed Aug 02, 2017 8:49 am

Hi Everyone,
Having just added another Aprilia, I realised that I've lost track a bit of who has got what (or who has had what in the past).
To understand what we have at present and what accumulated Aprilia experience we have on the forum, I thought I'd start off a thread to find out.

So:
  • * Tell us what Aprilias you have at present
    * Tell us how long you have owned them

    * Tell us what Aprilias you had in the past
    * Tell us how long you had them and when you got rid of them

    * If you want to, post a picture (of the bike - not just a random picture)

I'll kick off:

I have a Falco and a Futura.

I have had the Falco for just over 12 years (bought new in May 2005)

I have had the Futura for less than a month (bought used in July 2017)

I have had no previous Aprilias though I did have to keep my son's Aprilia Sonic scooter running for a few years ......

Here are my Aprilias:

I have no 'prilia's now, but I used to have F9's Falco, will have to hunt up a pic or 2 as they don't have a home on the interweb.

Dates?
Hmmm. Tricky.
I own the storm trooper which I have had seven years and was origionally mercury grey.
I have owned an oasis green. Only had it a couple years.
Bought a battered neglected blue falco and had it painted black and white. Also mechanical work done.
Had that for two years also.
Got a futura which has been painted. Had that four years ish.
I also own a mille r. I have had that about four years also......
I have a falco track bike. This I have had about three years.
Bought a black falco which has been painted red and white. Sold to Jean luc ride hard. This has mechanical jobs done at the same time.
A cat c write off falco which I have had for twenty months. But this will be repaired.
And finally I bought a red flame three months ago which is having bits done when I have time.
Tolerance will be our undoing.

Wow Fewer than I thought - just me and Jay and Gio from past ownership.

Maybe it's because Jay has most of the world's stock of Aprilias and there are none left for anybody else?

I've got 3 Falco's
Blue one bought new in the UK in 2002 and exported to Australia in 2007
Red and black one bought as a damaged repairable from NSW about 7 years ago.
Deep red and black one bought in the UK in 2015 and still residing in a mates garage.

It has nothing to do with storage space, its more to do with my laptop/windoze 10 will actually do anything when it boots up, it certainly has its 'possessed days, black screen, pointer arrow leaping around everywhere, opening/closing stuff at random, emails disappearing, freezing.....
Some days I just have to give up and switch off before I smash it to bits with an axe

There's a repair function in w10 you could try
For the avoidance of doubt and for the benefit of my wife, not everything I may say here will be absolutely true I may on ocassion embellish a little for effect.
That said when it comes to motorbikes, I like to ride side saddle with a nice frock
