Triple S chains

It's time for a new chain and sprockets on the Fut. However, when I bought the bike, the previous owner gave me a new chain that he'd bought but never used. It's a Triple S 'O' ring which is still wrapped and boxed.

Does anyone have any experience - good or bad - with these chains? It isn't a brand I've ever used and I'm a bit wary but, maybe I'm just being paranoid?!

Any help appreciated and I'll post on the Falco forum as well to get a wider audience.

Cheers

Nice to hear from you again Dave, hope you are well!
I have no experiencve of these chains, but found this link to another bike site -
http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j& ... WU&cad=rja

Seems to show various views, certainly not all bad.
Probably worth a try if cleaned and lubed regularly, or using a chain oiler.

Hi Howard. Thanks for the link (!) - doesn't look as if they're too bad, just not as good as the best.

Yep, I'm good thanks and finally retiring next week - can't wait! I still hang around the forum but haven't usually got much to add.

Hope you and yours are all well.

Cheers

We are both well thanks!
I am sure you will enjoy your retirement, I certainly have done so far.
I was worried when I decided to retire early, as I had always been a workaholic, often left work well after others had gone and usually took work home!
I left just over two years ago, and have never thought about it since, other than odd occasions when talking to old workmates.
Kept busy at home with an extension on the bungallow and plenty of other projects that had needed doing for years.
Terri also worked for a Local Authority and went through the same situation of cuts and job losses, so I suggested that she took redundancy/early retirement and joined me just over a year ago.
We spend lots of time taking trips out, and take lots of "holidays" of different types. Some years ago we had touring caravans and we have even bought a newish small 2 berth caravan to make even more trips.
Don't find the time to get bored.
Hope you take to retirement as well as we have done!

All the best in your new life.
