Very quick question... Kind of wire mod related

#1 Post by Cathcart » Fri May 17, 2013 5:37 pm

I done "a" wire mod today, same principle but I just got rid of the plug altogether.

The question... The brown (generator 3 yellow wires to reg/rec) plug... Would like to just get rid of this and patch the wires through as the plug gets hot (I've no patience for removing spades etc), so, what kind of current goes through each wire? I've got some 30 amp wire kicking around, this enough for each yellow wire? Solder joining obviously, not crimping.

Cheers.

Wire Mod...

Hi all,

I just managed to play with the wires and just solder them together with shrink wrap, didn't add any wire :smt002
My warranty is the clear/smoked tail lights around the corner!!

Crimping (properly) is better than soldering BTW

How many of us have proper crimping stuff? I don't, next best thing for me is soldering. I always crimp then solder terminals or if joining wires together I just solder as I don't trust my crimping. I've ripped out that brown hot connector and just put extra wire in, couldn't pull enough through to do it without and have no tension.
