i wimped out............

of the camping - and booked bed and breakfast - in the house opposite the pub :)

looking forward to seeing a few faces there, and hopefully will be able to have a few jars on saturday night if any one else is staying over.
(If not, I will get juiced on my own... and cry in solitude into my ale....)

Big Wobbly Arses!!!

This clashes with my wife's friend's wedding and I've just had it confirmed that I'm expected to attend!

I was really looking forward to this one as well!

..... don't suppose a few of you could come via Coventry and kidnap me .... or turn up at the church to offer some "lawful cause or impediment" which would force them to cancel the wedding??

..... nah, didn't think so .....

:smt009 :smt089 :smt009 :smt089 :smt009 :smt089

Anyone up for the Festival of 1000 Bikes at Mallory on the Sunday to round things off? - I might be able to make that! ..... you can then tell me what I great day I missed on the Saturday!

was fun

I know paddy took some photos. but I will write something tomorrow - was a late night for some of us, then a 330 mile trip home, followed by a liquid social meet for my local bike group - apparantly I have some blood in my alcohol stream :)

I took a couple but I am knackered cos I was at Oulton Park all day today for the BSB in the bloody rain.

Falco was excellent> I got there by motorway(severely boring) and came home on the A40 (boring) and the A49(not quite as boring) and she never missed a beat. I could not see anything by the time I got home due to all the dead flys on my visor. I will get a pic of that up too. I don't know if I missed the odd cash camera, may be a letter in the post soon. Bloody sun was in my eyes most of the way home combined with lack of vision with flys arses and such.

Was a good turnout, had to be at least 100 or more that turned up. I met Aladinsaneuk. Nooj and his wife, hisnibbs, Yelloduck and some others that are not on the forum but Alad sorted that out by giving out some cards :smt001 , we should have a few new members joining hopfully.

ANd I have got a pic or two of a severely carboned out and sexy looking falco but you will just have to wait till I transfer them up :smt002

I may thow in the odd BSB pic too.

A steady ride down to Postcombe , followed a pair of RSV’s for the last few miles so didn’t have to think too much.

It didn’t take long to pitch tent and meet a few Falco riders. In fact I camped close to a nice silver one with OZ wheels. Tim I think his name was but my memory is a bit hazy at the best of times, more of that later…

I joined the huddle around the Carbon Fibre Beauty, it has more CF and trick bits than I have time to list, but didn’t look like it gets ridden much! I think it was at this time I started on the Stella. I especially liked the 550 racer but there were a lot of nice bikes to be seen and heard and after a bit, even the beige ones looked good to me. :smt002

Sat for a while chatting with, you probably know who you are even if I’m not that sure…., drinking and unusually watching the birds circling overhead. Red Kites I think are partial to a bit of carrion. Some time latter most went into the pub for a meal so being a happy camper I got another pint and went back to my tent to cook up my curry, last nights left-overs, yum!

Suitably refreshed I rejoined the group at the pub. Seems like everyone was getting on well and a few hours latter, shortly after some ‘cal-overdose’ with a larger chaser, I thought it best to find my bed. I must have done that successfully but despite this, did not feel particularly clever the next morning…..

I managed to get packed up just before it threatened rain and enjoyed a smooth as I could manage, dry ride home. Spent a little while ridding with a custom show style VMax with the fattest rear tyre imaginable who as we slipped through the traffic and rounder bouts on the A43, was cruising some 20mph faster than I was.

I'm looking forward to my next mini trip. Next week I'm taking my youngest camping for a few days near Bath. Might do a little expolring from there. I'm getting hungry for a proper trip though, the Falco definitely feels up to the task.
Don't put off 'till tomorrow what you can enjoy today
