mille 2-1 into 2-1 ??

#1 Post by flatlander » Tue Feb 14, 2012 1:47 pm

I did try searching but can't find anything specific, my mate wants to switch his 200/2001 mille from single to twin pipe whats he need ?
For the avoidance of doubt and for the benefit of my wife, not everything I may say here will be absolutely true I may on ocassion embellish a little for effect.
That said when it comes to motorbikes, I like to ride side saddle with a nice frock

Brain surgery (on 2 counts)
  • 1) For having a Mille rather than a Falco
    2) Adding unnecessary weight to it and spoiling the view of the swingarm from the left-hand side

The easiest way is to just pull off the Mille system and fit the Falco system. He should be able to get away without swapping the rear header. He will probably need a set of Falco rear pegs as the Mille left hand pillion peg doesn't have a mounting point for the can.
Not 100% sure whether there are any other issues as I've gone the other way but he'll not need to swap oil tanks or coolers to fit the Falco system to the Mille.

Clearly a chap on the path to enlightenment. Full enlightenment will of course only be attained when he has a Falco with a 2-2 exhaust system... :smt003

I'm working on it so far I have got him down from changing to a tuono and accepting the virtue of releasing the extra dosh into a falco whilst relieving himself of the crappy mille which would have to be a second bike for someone who had invested time and energy into said enlightenment :smt003

What he needs to do is
1) sell the gen 1
2)Buy a falco
3)Buy a mille r gen 1
4)Rob the bits for his falco
5)claim off his insurance for a stolen gen 1 mille r

:smt003 :smt003 :smt003

In that order

Or buy my falco system when i have changed over and steal a gen 1 and strip the bits :smt005
Tolerance will be our undoing.
