Recall on tuono-rsv

#1 Post by D-Rider » Sun Mar 23, 2008 2:36 pm

Lifted this from the Club Aprilia site:
Received a letter today regards a recall on so tuono's.

There is a problem with the front brake,And no this isn't a wind up.

Your dealers will have the vin numbers of the bikes.

They are are the later RR engine numbers, i think all 07 bikes?

I will post up all the numbers when i get into work tomorrow.
Problem is "incorrect machining of the oil pipe in the front braking system"

There will be an official Recall Campaign by Aprilia.

Parts that need replacing are; front brake pipe and 6 copper washers.
vin numbers for you to check!!!!

ZD4RR100_7S003590 to ZD4RR100_7S003619 = 29 BIKES

ZD4RR100_8S003510 to ZD4RR100_8S004220 = 710 BIKES

ZD4RR200_7S000656 to ZD4RR200_7S000675 = 19 BIKES

ZD4RR200_8S000696 to ZD4RR200_8S000699 = 3 BIKES

Luckily we dont have to contact any owners, from bikes we have sold, not nice tell customers that their front brake might fail!!!

Get checking yours, and ring your dealers on tuesday if affected

Luckily mines not one of the recall bikes, but it's an 07 never the less.

Aprilia have written to me about the rear brake problem (RSV & Tuono)highlighted on the forums though, so it's nice that Aprilia are taking notice of what is said on these owners forums

Debz hasn't had a letter about this, so hopefully hers are OK. Her rear brake is totally non-functioning though. I think she's going to tell the dealer to bleed it properly at it's service which is coming up soon.
