when do your fuel light come on

Filled it back up this morning, took 14.5L, that was after 147 miles.
Specs seem to say 21 litre tank.
How much fuel do peeps get in when they fill after the light comes on? is it super cautious & comes on early?
Light usually on at about 120 miles, but then I only get about 12 litres in which would seem to mean i could (if I'm brave) ride with the fuel light on until 170-180 miles.
What is others experience.

Thanks muchly.

I think that the last time that this was discussed the general consensus was 120ish was an average and a good time to get fuel with an expected 20-30 reserve. Obvious variations for setup styles etc but I think this was the general average. That said I had the valves done and a tune up at Griffs and got nearly 200 out of it not long back. That was when I got the 89mph safety reminder :( so wasn't going too slow. That said I am convinced that the weather makes a difference and that was on dying hoops.

Sorry if that's a bit rambling but Andy will no doubt be along shortly to remind us there's a satchel function :smt002

I guess the light comes on at about 110 miles (sometimes 100 sometimes 120) I then get about 16.5 litres in.

Last one I did better - got 140 miles but had included a long run rather than just the short commute. Again got about 16.5 litres in.

I've seen both numbers mentioned.
I wonder whether it's a 21 litre tank that contains a 2 litre fuel pump ?

I've seen both figures too, but on a sphincter clenching ride with the fuel light on (300km) I still only got 18l in and it must have been very very close to empty so I'm thinking 19 is the capacity. I doubt the pump is 2l worth to look at. Not aware the tanks were ever any different between models, maybe an error on the datasheets.

I researched this. The tank is 19l give or take about 500ml

All the spec sheets online are wrong. Never ever has the Falco had a 21 tank.

You'll get about 166 miles to empty on a long consistent run.

About 130 miles around town.

Mines potluck measurement, it has no fuel gauge or warning light, but last time I did 145miles an squeezed 14 litres into a 19 litre tank.
I do however have a reserve of 2.5 litres when the main tank runs dry.

So!
Its still a bike and it uses fuel and has the same general layout, plus I don't read individual forums I go to "posts since last visit" :smt019

errrr ....... but this would be a fairly pointless discussion if we open it up to every vehicle. It's in the Falco section rather than any of the general discussions .... so I've avoided telling everyone that my car does something like 400 miles before the light comes on .... though the tank is more than 19 litres ..... and it runs on diesel .....

When you do that, the first column highlights new posts, the second shows what forum the post is in, the next shows the thread title the new post is in, then Author views, replies and who made the last post..

:smt019 But I know what you mean.. the first two columns get a glace, the third gets the most attention and drives your choice to click thru...

:smt002

I, errm.. got rid of Honda forums a while back.. most of their threads are in bike chat.
