Dyno experiences please

As i've mentioned already I'm getting the bike on a Dyno to get a decent setup with the PCIII. As i've never done this before could anyone who has tell me if as part of the setup these Dyno bods will adjust all the various bleed screws, trim pots (is that what they're called?), balance the carbs and generally do all the other adjustments that have been mentioned on here to get smooth running or do they simply reprogram the PCIII and assmue the other bits are OK? So i suppose the second part of my question is whether the things i've mentioned are part of a service/general maintenance or part of a Dyno setup?

Not sure if this makes sense......

When did you get the carb conversion fitted TN ?

I'm afraid PCIIIs will only work with fuel injected bikes so, as you don't really need it, I suggest you wrap it up in a nice box and post it to me to look after for you.

You know it makes sense!

I think you've just identified the difference between a GOOD dyno service and the merely adequate... how much "extra" (non-PCIII) tweaking they do depends on how good/helpful/enthusiastic they are (and how well they know the Aprilia/Rotax engine).

It might also depend on what you ASK them to do; ask for a new PCIII map and that is probably all you will get.

Not sure that's really much help, is it? :smt017

Whilst I'm certainly no MotoGP mechanic I was under the impression that carbs were carbs whether they were fuel injected or not??...I could be wrong. They're also referred to as 'carbs' here http://www.geocities.com/sl_mille/synch.html so it's possible i'm not talking bollocks (as usual). :smt002

No fella, quite the contrary, that's confirmed what I thought in that there are varying levels of 'setup'. So on that basis has can anyone recommend a Dynojet joint anywhere in the country that will do all the things i'm looking for? If a place is good enough to do a proper job then it'll definitely be worth riding to........it could stop from selling up and regretting it afterwards.

Only place I know is Southern Cross and Don being a racer, I imagine he knows what he's doing.

I think in hindsight, I actually meant throttle body synchronisation, not carb balance. I bought one of these synchronizers from AF1 and have never used it (what with having no time to do anything).....might also sell that if I get rid unless the Dyno man does the biz.

I had mine dynoed locally, but that merely consisted of me dropping off the bike and matey ragging the arse of the bike on his machine.

That's all I asked for to be fair as I'd done some mods and wanted to see the effect.

I already had standard graphs to compare to and I couldn't afford anything else at the time.

I would suggest a proper Dynojet place so you can get them to tweak away to get the very best set up. Might be pricey in the short term, but you should ride away with the optimum set up for your paarticular mods.

PS make sure you take a piccie of the VMAX on the dash asap before you have a reset (should show 170mph), handy whilst bullshitting down the pub. :smt002

Yep... Throttle Bodies are the things. :smt004

Wouldn't it be easier to get a rear paddock stand and give all you have in your right wrist in 6th gear? :smt003 :smt003 :smt003

Disclaimer, do NOT do this, unless you want your Falco shooting through the back wall of your garage at 170mph when it shakes itself off the paddock stand.

So before I book my rolling road Dyno time can someone provide a definitive list of all the things which a full and complete setup should entail so that I can specifically request that they're all done on the day? i.e Trim pot adjustment, throttle body balancing etc......
