Woohoo promotion at work, more time and money for the falco!
I am currently a charge nurse in a psychiatric hospital here in sunny Sussex. Yesterday I found out that I will be acting up as ward manager in a couple of weeks. It is for 3 months at first but will be reviewed and there may be the possibility of it becoming permanent. To say I am excited would be an understatement, I am a little anxious about it too, I will be responsible for the safe runninbg of the ward and my staff and patients' safety too. I keep getting the feeling that I'm going to be found out for winging it all along. I've only have been qualified for 4 years come October so it seems like a fairly rapid progression but my current manager and the matron both seem pretty confident that I can do it.
The best part is that I will have a nice pay rise and go to 9-5, meaning that throughout the summer I will have my weekends free for rideouts, tinkering and generally actually being able to see non-nursing friends regularly. Result!

Congratulations! Always nice to hear things going well for peeps, especially with the 'current climate' people go on about
I've just started my army resettlement (got yr n a half left) so currently deciding what to spend their money on for my resettlement courses. Am thinking randomness rather than run of the mill.

Congratulations
Having done it, but in the general field, please feel free to ask for any advice etc
I now manage a nursing home :)
Oh - hardest thing is - you will no longer be one of the girls/lads...

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...
.... but he fits in perfectly with those for whom they care ........Aladinsaneuk wrote:Congratulations

I sure do, must be something abut the deranged look I get riding in to work contending with lorry drivers on their way to gatwick or dover and the local boy racers who think that their clapped out 'tuned' Saxo is a worthy adversary for a big Italian twin.D-Rider wrote:.... but he fits in perfectly with those for whom they care ........Aladinsaneuk wrote:Congratulations
