Snetterton - how fast?

I'll be there on the 19th for a track day, first one this year and first time at the 300 circuit.
The bike is on standard gearing, and stock except for filter and cans.
Any predictions for top speed at the end of the straight?
I'd guess around 145mph.

... "at the end of the straight" .... I'd suggest that's probably a bit quick to be entering a corner .....

on the old snetterton a falco with standard gearing showed an indicated 162
allegedly :)

I think it unlikely that the standard gearing will be optimal.
I'm not generally an advocate of droping the gearing to 15/41 or 16/44 but even on a fast circuit I reckon that'll give you a significantly better lap time. I.e a second or so......

I suspect the real speed was around 154 if my research is / was correct
In my opinion, and I am certainly not in your league, the old snetterton was an easy track to maintain a high speed

I'd seen the 102db limit, baffles will be packed!
I would love to be able to lower the gearing, but unfortunately I'm stuck with stock until the c&s need changing.
From what I've heard top speeds are a bit lower on the new circuit layout, I guess as you loose some distance, although the corner coming onto the straight looks fairly quick.
The last (and only) time I've been there was with the old layout on my SZR660, which managed 115mph
Hopefully I'll beat that

I think a 15t front sproket costs less than £20 and I know takes around 15 minutes to fit. (You won't need to change the number of links)
On standard gearing realisticaly top is an "overdrive", nice to have if you are rolling along around a ton but rarely help full on a circuit.

It would make sense, but I've just finished changing the rear wheel bearings (what a pain) and don't plan on doing anything else to the bike for a while, or spending any more money on it either!
...except re-fitting the standard exhaust hangers as I'll be taking my brother on the back next weekend
...and fitting the new footpegs when they arrive
