Special Conditions Tyres?

We all want the perfect tyre, but I have some particular requirements that hopefully someone can advise on......

I live in Bulgaria, where the roads are often bumpy and quite 'polished' ie there is often bugger all grip - a mate of mine here with a Speed Triple reckons the upside of this is that tyres wear much slower.....

So I'm after the grippiest tyres available, no need to worry about wet-weather performance ( this is BG remember) and hopfully the wear rate won't be too horrific if the theory is correct........

I'll probably only manage 4-5000m this year - am I right in thinking you shouldn't over-winter tyres anyway? The plan then is to have a summer of grip and then chuck 'em - any suggestions gratefully received :)

Something like Dunlop SportSmarts may be a good idea, not track day sticky, but a good sports tyre with excellent all round grip that wears very well. Brit bike mags rate them very highly, also good in wet, if needed and warm up pretty well. No need to ditch them for winter, just keep them until they actually wear out.

I would be very tempted by the maxxis sports tyre - I rate their sports tourer tyre....

And a pair of maxxis t yres are very cheap..... - I put the sports tourer tyres on a par with conti road attacks

You say you're not bothered by wet weather performance, but will you warm the supersticky tyres sufficiently on those poor as you say surfaces?

Hope that m stamds for miles, not meters :smt005 :smt002 :smt002

That's why I suggested the Sport Max rather than super sticky stuff.

I'd agree with Howard, something like the Sportsmart (or equivalent tyre at the sticky end of a manufacturers tyre range) would be my choice. Sportsmarts are getting rave reviews all over the place and (coincidentally enough) I have a pair waiting to go on a set of Oz rims...

Cheers chaps, have just ordered some Sportsmarts (not the Mk11) at an eye-watering 220 quid......I'll let you know how they cope with polished, bumpy tarmac - if this damn snow ever melts.......

Next stop a riser bar kit - anyone selling a pre-butchered fairing?
