Hi all. I've had a falco (first big bike) since last November. Thought it was about time I signed up after using the forum extensively for research before and after purchasing.
I am late coming to biking having only done my cbt last year. I had a cheapo Chinese supermoto for the summer, but always lusted after an Italian twin :0). Thanks to this forum along with a bit of common sense (and a modest budget), I have arrived at a falco.
It looks great (flashy yellow!) and I've had fun improving it over the last couple of months in preporation for some good weather and getting my full license (test on 3rd feb). I know I'm doing things backwards but its been a great insentive having it sitting there otherwise I don't think I would have got round to doing the theory & mod 1 tests yet, let alone riding round Lowestoft for 3 hours at a time in freezing cold rain on an uninspiring er5.

Thanks for the welcomes. Paint? I am considering getting the mid fairings painted yellow (they are a mat grey/black as standard) but going to leave the rear bugger and bellypan I've fitted gloss black as I like the look. I got a flashy yellow touch up from eBay and it's a very good match, they also sell rattle cans so I'm considering getting them and painting the mid fairings myself. Doesn't look bad as it is but just maybe a bit too black at the moment.
Other mods so far are smaller indicaters, r&g crash & fork protectors, scottoiler (going to try that tomorow), Oxford optimizer to help the battery through the cold, oh and yellow rim tapes!
Bike also has a black screen, Mille yellow sachs scock, Remus gp titanium cans (annoyingly with non removable baffles), renegade air kit, and uprated ht leads I believe. (got lots of reciepts etc)
I'm also going to replace the metzeller front tyre to match the rear pilot road 2 (front wheel it also on backwards?!)
apart from that I'll be wanting to give it a good service as it's getting a bit long in the tooth at 50,000 + miles on the clock. I havnt cheched the book to see what it's due but I'm guessing valve clearances wouldn't be a bad idea? Any good aprilia focused workshops to recomend in the Norfolk/Suffolk area for referance?

Hi Nog.
There is only one ER5. It manages to exist in several different places at once because the extreme dullness causes time and space to collapse around it. That's why you can't tell what the wheels are up to. They're being used by 300 other miserable people at the same time.
Did you say yellow?

The er5 is indeed a thing of hate, but I'm glad in a way because my falco is going to be sooooo nice in comparison!

For the avoidance of doubt and for the benefit of my wife, not everything I may say here will be absolutely true I may on ocassion embellish a little for effect.
That said when it comes to motorbikes, I like to ride side saddle with a nice frock

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...
Hi and welcome
.... and your choice is in a class of its own .... no, hang on, I mean a field of its own ..... well, at least it would be if Yellowduck didn't turn up with his bike too .....
Anyway, enjoy your Falco and enjoy the forum
