Is this falco oil filter a long or short one? I bought it without even thinking about it....

Also, 6 quid to post the jet on the right from Nottingham to Lincoln - Ultimate Parts are thieving bastards...

£6 to post that :smt085 what a rip off postage is one thing that does annoy me. Living in shetland i always get the.....oh! that will be extra to send, yet it doesnt cost me any more to post from my end.

as for the filter i can't be sure, what does it measure in length?

It's 75mm, think that is a long filter?

Edit:

Yeah, thats the longer filter. I should have know, i made the same mistake last time i serviced it. Have taken the plunge and bought the new, longer filter cover, mine appears to have the short one still...

Edit 2:

lol, this is what i got when asking how it costed £6 + vat for delivery:
Hi

Sad to say its costs more than we charged,

Actual postal cost £1.64 + £1 for signed for

Cost of processing each order (approx 12 mins ) Inc ink/paper/printers/computers etc £2.00

Cost of picking + packing order (approx 10 mins ) £2.00

Cost of jiffy bag 20p

Cost of docs enclosed envelope 10p

Total cost £6.94

And that’s before we add the cost of offices/warehouse/admin staff etc.

So for small internet order we don’t make any money at all.

For you and us its best to order a few parts together, or find an internet selling who can get staff for £2.00 per hour or send spend £6.00 on fuel going to a local dealer in Lincoln (if he has the part in stock).

Anyway I hope you were happy with the fast delivery time (we sent out Tuesday)

Regards
Me thinks that if it costs him £6.94, mostly because of staffing, he needs some new staff! especially if it takes them nearly half an hour to process a incy wincy order.....What a load of bollocks.....

The filter was about 5 quid from ebay, the jet was £16 delivered from ultimate parts.

Should i expect an invoice for 2 hours labour that it took him to write the email?

I almost felt like asking for a job - 23k a year and only expected to be able to complete one item per 22 minutes. Sounds like easy work to me!

I am not telling you this to piss you off has we all have to live and learn.
But in future you may be has well asking on here for the best prices..
Griff sold me my jet for around £10.50 delivered.

I think a snotty email sent with the info you have just been told from a forum member might be in order. :smt013
Put it down to expierience.

Griffs number is 01827285500.
He is very helpfull :smt002

I've just changed my oil filter (a Genuine Aprila long one) and it didn't look the same as that.

Ultimate parts are a great resource for finding bits but I've not bought from them as they are not the cheapest - largely due to delivery - however, in their defence, the prices do come up before you place the order.

I usually buy from Inmoto or Speedaway.
Given up trying to buy from Griff after my last attempt .... 3 calls to try to place the order - each time they said they'd get back to me but never did.

Hmm. No idea wheather this is a long or short filter now. Will have to wait until i get the rest of my bits through, so i can service it. Either way, atleast i am prepared in either situation now.

Im actually really excited about the work i need to do on the bike - it has been so long since i have done any major work!
